Winkler leaves game after throwing a pitch and going down in pain.

    Looks like elbow or forearm.

Sucks this keeps happening to us.

I've never seen a guy throw one to the backstop, grab his embow/forearm, and not need TJ surgery.

Fractured right elbow. Better than TJ surgery

That's what I thought when it happened... same exact thing happened to me 10 years ago

If it's the same injury and recovery time as Gavin Floyd, he made his first rehab start about 5 months after surgery. So much better outcome than torn ligament. Let's hope it's just that.

My memory of that injury was Tony Saunders from the Marlins back around 2000, and it was recurring and basically career-ending. Hopefully that was different somehow.

EDIT: Looks like that was arm and not elbow, so I guess never mind. Also was with TB when he got hurt.

I believe Floyd had a small fracture, this guy might have broken the entire limb.

I wanna say it happened to Tony Saunders twice.

This also happened to Jay Powell when he was with us in 2005. He had a few good outings then he let one loose and fell to the ground in pain. I remember that one in particular seeing it live.
