    Asssuming you ignored this part:

"the same terrifying force he was in Orlando in 2011 and 2012"

    So obviously, you are incorrect.

East was a pushover and the centers overall are coming back to the NBA. Howard also benefitted from being so much more athletic than basically everyone on the court. With age/injuries his true skill is showing.

    Some/most in the East, but...

Marc Gasol, Hibbert, Noah to name a few.

So you name 3 centers in a league with 30 teams, one of which averages 9 points and 9 rebounds per game and they other averages 12 points and 9 rebounds per game.

    Cousins
    Vukevic
    Horford
    Gasols (Both)
    Kanter
    Pek
    Gortat
    Hibbert
    Chandler
    Noah
    Splitter
    Bogut
    Drummond

Some others, but in general there are more legitimate centers/big men in the league as oppposed to three-four years ago.

Splitter averages like 7 points per game. Bogut 6.5. Not even gonna go through whole list, the center position is still weak.

As a Wizards fan, I wish Gortat was really, really good.

I never said they were all GOOD centers. But they are legitmate NBA big men. 4 years ago the position was so barren it was a joke.

Probably, but I don't think they should be in a rush to accede to Asik's trade-demands, either.

So here comes the ****-stirring from Post columnist Mike Vaccaro. He accuses Garnett, Pierce, and Joe Johnson of being "no-account losers" who won't face the media when times are tough. But the real problem, according to Vaccaro's theory, is that "players' coach" Jason Kidd is allowing the inmates to run the asylum, much as he did when he was a player in New Jersey.
Or maybe, just maybe, this is an old, poorly constructed team with injury liabilities and a first-time coach, and it's going to take more than 10 games to figure out what Nets basketball even is. Given the amount of hype and championship talk from the summer, Brooklyn's not going to get much more time before the circling vultures move in.

    RealGM:

A veteran scout described Kidd's comportment on the bench as "terrible."

“He doesn’t do anything,” said the scout, who has watched the Nets several times. “He doesn’t make calls. John Welch does all the offense. Lawrence does all the defense. … I don’t know what Kidd does. I don’t think you can grade him and say he’s bad. You can give him an incomplete.”

I'd take more enjoyment from the Nets' start if the Knicks didn't suck.
