Awesome that the Kings made that trade with the assumption that both Monta and Wes would sign there.

I can't think of a more disfunctional modern franchise.

Awesome that the Kings made that trade with the assumption that both Monta and Wes would sign there.

I can't think of a more disfunctional modern franchise.

Not sure if they assumed those things and the franchise is certaiy a cluster****, but you are still overating what they gave up. A crappy player and a pick. Probably should wait to see what they do with the money saved.

They could have just cut those players and used the stretch provision for not that much of a difference and still kept their assets. It was a terrible move.

All good moves but the timing is just bad. I get that they don't have a first round pick next year but they are no better than a 6-8th seed assuming Melo is healthy.

They would still have to pay Landry and Thompson just at a pro rata basis plus an additiona year. Why does that make sense?

They are trying to free cap space and by doing that they woudl free cap space while still keeping assets for another move. Its clear they didn't NEED the cap space immediately.

They actually freed cap space instead of habing to pay for a guy for the next several years.

The assets of Nik Stauskad and a non top 10 puck in 2018 doesnt get u much.

Now they have flexibility to sign or trade

They still gave up assets that have value (and pick swaps that could have a lot of value potentially) to sign players that have no interest to play there despite being paid more money.

You have to be the only soul on earth that is borderline praising the Kings.
