Brodie played awesome tonight for Houston, but that roster is not well built to play alongside him.
Warriors got lit up
The upcoming Jordan documentary had me thinking. He went 3rd that year. Now, I will say Hakeem the Dream had an amazing career, so I don't think Houston has any real regrets. But ****ing Portland takes Sam Bowie, the next 3 players were MJ, Sam Perkins, and Barkley. When the weakest player of that crew is a 17 year starter, while the other 2 are inner circle hall of famers, it looks really bad. I understand Bowie had a strong stock, but he had a history of injuries.
But I guess it could be worse, you could be the 10 teams after Philly to not take John Stockton.
I know randomness happens. Like the 98 draft where the 2 best careers were had from the 9th and 10th picks. But it must suck to be Portland and wind up with the only dud player from the top 5 of that draft.
Stockholm, more densely populated than NYC - sturg
Oh ok.
A lor of younger fans don't appreciate Barkley because they only see him as this chubby overweight analyst on TNT and the show always rags on him with clips and current players making fun of him.
But Barkley was absolutely a beast in his prime. Even being undersized he was an animal and guarded centers that were half a foot taller than him.
Forever Fredi
Jordan had a defense created just to try and stop him.
Barkley had a rule changed because of him.
Barkley never played with anyone like a peak Stockton. Those Phoenix Suns teams were carried by Barkley when you look at their roster. so that’s why I don’t put Malone ahead of Barkley.
Ewing up there too. But Barkley was a beast on both sides of the ball.
Forever Fredi
Don't sleep on those Suns teams. Kevin Johnson was a stud. Hes not Stockton of course but that Suns roster was damn good It was just impossible to beat the Bulls when Jordan was still somewhat younger. In a world where the 92/93 Suns play the 97 or 98 Bulls I think they have a chance
