Yeah, Kawhi better be in the top 40. If there was any doubt, he removed it last year. He's in that rare "if this guy is on your team, you are automatically in contention" class, IMO.

At his peak athleticism Westbrook was a great great offensive player but his overall impact on the game was much less. Took me a while to come around on that so I wouldn't put him in the top 50. But, as Aces said, its hard to ignore his production.

Participants on a Tuesday Board of Governors call with NBA commissioner Adam Silver left the virtual meeting increasingly positive about the league's momentum toward a resumption of play this season, sources told ESPN.

Owners and executives on the call were encouraged about the league's progress toward minimizing health risk upon a return and the league office's positive conversations with the National Basketball Players Association about the players' desire to eventually restart the season, sources said.

Discussions centered on health and safety concerns in a return, including the goal of getting team officials and players comfortable with the idea that a positive test for the coronavirus upon a return would not shutter play.

Silver told those on the call that if a positive test would "shut us down, we probably shouldn't go down this path."

How many positive tests would be too many remains a question, and is one of many that the NBA, NBPA and medical experts have to come to terms with in the coming weeks before the league and union can greenlight a resumption of play.

As for the format in a return to play, there still is no decision on how the kind of form that would take with the 30 NBA teams, sources said. The league hasn't worked through the details on whether all 30 teams would return, or regular season games would be played, or perhaps a play-in tournament to give more teams a chance to make the 16-team playoff field, sources said.

I agree with Durant over Curry. It's hard for me to place Curry...on one hand, he was the key player to a five year dynasty, is the poster child for a new era and style of play, has multiple MVP awards (one of only thirteen players in that club)...yet I have a hard time agreeing he's the 13th best player to ever play the game. I'd have him in the top 25 for sure, but 13 just feels high to me.

Giannis at 27 feels more like where he should end up at the end of his career, assuming no major injuries. If he retired tomorrow, I don't know how the case is made for him in the top 30.

Stockton at 28 is another tough one to place. I think I'd take most of the point guards ranked below him on this list if I was starting a team and had to choose, but if he played in today's NBA, he'd be shooting 8.5 threes a game instead of the 1.5 he averaged in his career, and his resume would look completely different.

Thibodeau to Knicks probably might be the best thing to happen to them coachingwise in a long time.

I worry the game has passed him by, but between him and the front office hires, it's an enormous positive shift in culture.

Anyone else not missing the fans at all? Would have been nice if that Doncic buzzer beater happened in front of a packed Dallas arena, but other than that, I think the NBA bubble product has been great. Between the deep benches, video boards, tight camera angles, lighting, crowd noise, I think they’ve done a great job.

NBA is good entertainment. Too bad they can’t STFU about politics. Everyone can have an opinion, but you check them at the door when you are working. Most people would agree about that.

Anyone remember when sports would bring us closer? Now it’s the exact opposite. **** them.

I watched about a quarter and a half. Miami came out like gangbusters and then the talent disparity took over. Such a joke of a series. Anyone who did not see this coming clearly knows zero about basketball.

I think a lot plays into the low turnout. Most people understood this was not going to be a competitive series and the two day sitting out period probably didn’t resonate well with casual fans of the game.

I thought the Heat would give the Lakers some trouble, but after injuries to Adebayo and Dragic in game 1, you can stick a fork in Miami.

Also what no one is accounting for is the pandemic's dramatic shift in people's viewing habits.
