He’s fat now (as is Joker) and he’s arguably the second best player in the world and just led his team to the finals.

It screams obvious coverup for something else.

Nico Harrison was the executive at Nike who fumbled the Steph Curry meeting - mispronounced him name, maybe called him Seth, and showed him a presentation that was designed for Kevin Durant - pushing him to Under Armour.

I guess if there was one GM who was going to make a trade so ridiculous that it would cause the NBA world to question whether Shams was hacked when he reported it, he'd probably be a top 3 candidate.

That press conference he gave earlier was hysterical.

Not often a GM fumbles the bag on two top 15 players in a 3 year period. Jerry Krause is smiling from heaven.

Imagine if LeBron gets him into shape and better defensively. EVeryone will be lolling so hard.

I am barely a casual fan of the NBA these days. But even I know this was a God awful trade for Dallas.

Would be like us Trading Acuna for Carlos Correa.

Why are half of the superstars in the NBA only playing like 30-40 games a year ?

I don’t get it. Are they snapping arms and legs night in and night out ?

It's this load management BS. Which I don't buy. They don't even play defense anymore, so what exactly are they doing that is so taxing on their body?

It makes sense for aging superstars IMO. BUt it doesn't make sense for kids.

This is also the consequence of half the league getting into the playoffs. THey don't really care if they're the 1 seed or the 6 seed.

NBA should shorten the season and introduce a mini-tournament in the middle.

It’s awful for the sport. There’s no way basketball has become this physical.

I don’t think it’s that basketball is too physical, it’s that teams have learned that when someone has a nagging injury and plays through it, it has the potential to decrease their performance in the short-term and in a lot of cases long-term. So when a bunch of games are essentially meaningless for the best teams, it’s good basketball ops to rest those players. Might not be so great for the league though.

I’m impressed that Danny Ainge has so much trade black magic left over that even deals he jumps into as a facilitator end up being all-time steals.

As a Jazz fan, I’m happy with the job he’s done. It’s also been a painfully boring 3 seasons

Looks like you guys have had some bad drafts the last 2 years though and haven't committed to all out tank until this year. To be fair I'm not sure Hendricks was hte wrong pick in 23 and not much great after him (Cason is a stud btw). He got hur tthis year as well so I get its not a finished story.

Cody Williams has been unfortuantely bad and I actually wanted him for okc. Keonte is more ball dominant than you want. Collier/Sens look like solid bench pieces.

Now a top 3 pick this year changes a lot but seems like sort of a half measure tank.

Unfortunately, I agree with you. Though I think it was not intended to be a half measure tank. Markannen ended up being a much better player than anyone expected. That’s probably worth drafting a bit higher (and they’ve basically put Lauri on ice all season to make sure they get a high pick).

I also think not trading Lauri last year was a mistake.

He isn't a lead dog on a title team. I think a solid #2 but ultimately the Jazz need multiple years with swings in the top 5.

Eh… he’s a star that wants to live in Utah. I could not say the same for Deron Williams, Gordon Hayward, and Donovan Mitchell

    Different markets have different goals.
