Id agree with this. Presti will take the first good offer for both paul and gallo so ultimately we finish in the lower 10 records but if the health was there okc still has a surprising amount of talent.

Brodie played awesome tonight for Houston, but that roster is not well built to play alongside him.

Down by 30 at half to a mediocre Thunder team.

The upcoming Jordan documentary had me thinking. He went 3rd that year. Now, I will say Hakeem the Dream had an amazing career, so I don't think Houston has any real regrets. But ****ing Portland takes Sam Bowie, the next 3 players were MJ, Sam Perkins, and Barkley. When the weakest player of that crew is a 17 year starter, while the other 2 are inner circle hall of famers, it looks really bad. I understand Bowie had a strong stock, but he had a history of injuries.

But I guess it could be worse, you could be the 10 teams after Philly to not take John Stockton.

I know randomness happens. Like the 98 draft where the 2 best careers were had from the 9th and 10th picks. But it must suck to be Portland and wind up with the only dud player from the top 5 of that draft.

Portland has had horrid luck. They also took Oden over Durant.

Oden would have been great but injuries killed him.

Which 2 inner circle HOFers you referring to?

Jordan one, the other Hakeem or Barkley?

I mean both of them are. But I was talking about Barkley in this one. Hes easily one of the 20 best players ever.

    Oh ok.

A lor of younger fans don't appreciate Barkley because they only see him as this chubby overweight analyst on TNT and the show always rags on him with clips and current players making fun of him.

But Barkley was absolutely a beast in his prime. Even being undersized he was an animal and guarded centers that were half a foot taller than him.

But at least Oden was the consensus number 1 pick. But Jordan was the NCAA player of the year. While I understand the concern, but can you imagine if Portland had Drexler and Jordan on the same team in the late 80s.

Barkley was a power forward who could shoot, for 5 years in a row he lead the NBA in 2PT%. He was a beast in his own right. Imagine if Kevin Love could shoot and block better.

Jordan on any team would have resulted in numerous championships. Similar to what SAV said about Barkley applies to Jordan despite him.bding considered a consensus top 2 of all time..

I feel people younger than 35 dont understand how incredible he was

The percentages stemmed from his in the paint game mostly. Nobody ever saw a 'big' run in transition like Barkely.

Arguably the best player to not win a title

NBA TV was showing a Knicks marathon a few days ago and I was watching some of their games against Jordan. I got that same nightmarish "we're screwed" feeling in the pit of my stomach that I remembered having as a kid watching those games live.

He LIVED to play the Knicks. I'll never forget the double nickel game.

Malone and Ewing are in that conversation too. Olajuwon would of been in there as well if Jordan hadn't retired for two years.

Jordan had a defense created just to try and stop him.

Barkley had a rule changed because of him.

Barkley never played with anyone like a peak Stockton. Those Phoenix Suns teams were carried by Barkley when you look at their roster. so that’s why I don’t put Malone ahead of Barkley.

Ewing up there too. But Barkley was a beast on both sides of the ball.

No doubt that Barkley was great. But Jordan stopped a lot of all-time greats from winning titles

Don't sleep on those Suns teams. Kevin Johnson was a stud. Hes not Stockton of course but that Suns roster was damn good It was just impossible to beat the Bulls when Jordan was still somewhat younger. In a world where the 92/93 Suns play the 97 or 98 Bulls I think they have a chance

Malone and Stockton would give him an argument for that. But he's near the top with them, Ewing, AI, and Baylor.
