As someone under 35 I take offense to that. Though I will say a lot of people in my age group never got to see peak Gretzky. We saw Gretzky, but he was older and while still the great one, he wasn't notching 150+ points a season anymore. Still a legend of course but it was like watching Randy Johnson in the mid 2000s.

Jordan I wouldn't compare to Gretzky because he didn't really hit his stride til late 80s or early 90s.

Sorry, that roster without Barkley (the league MVP) does not make the Finals, probably doesn't make it deep into the west.

At 35 you were 5 years old when Jordan won his first title. His second three peat you would have been 10 or 11 and he was a shell of himself (still all time great).

John Starks was a pretty good defender and played without fear, but he had no answer for Jordan that game. That's one game I re-watched last week. He played Jordan well at times over his career, but that night Jordan beat him like a drum.

Question is, if you swap Malone and Barkley do either team change? If the answer is no then they're equals. And to me that answer is for sure no. Barkley out produces Malone, I'd bet on that.

Still witnessed most of Jordan's greatness. It's not like Bird. Or Magic, who were playing their final seasons when I was forming early memories. Saying I don't remember Jordan is like saying I don't remember the Braves winning the 96 world series.

Being a sports fan at 10 is different than being one at 18.

I'm not sure it made a difference. At the time malone was probabaly a tick better than Barkley but early 90s barkley on those jazz teams might have made a difference if you swap out malone.

I was looking forward to this until I heard, they’re not going to **** on Michael. We all know what happened, but no one will ever publicly say it.

They beat the hawks like a drum. Nique is an under appreciated player because he couldn’t top MJ.

I think that’s going to be the issue for anyone not watching that generation of ball... it was MJ and everyone else and the best of the rest kinda gets pushed aside a bit. Totally agree on Barkley above. Criminally forgotten about player these days

Barkely would have probably been even better in the modern NBA. He would have been a center and always had a good shooting stroke.

Yup. I have found leaks through Episode 8. Not sure if I want to go ahead and watch them or just wait. Since I would have to wait anyways for 9 and 10 to come out. Rodman is great.

While we wait for basketball to return, ESPN is releasing its list of the top 74 players of all time. I'm sure this will be totally uncontroversial.

Westbrook at 42 is interesting...personally, I wouldn't want him anywhere near my team. And yet, he has produced some crazy numbers.

Westbrook is a poor man's AI. But he's hurt heavily by the era he plays in. James, Durant, Harden, Paul, Curry all shadow heavily over him. And Davis while he doesn't have the counting stats is the best player in the NBA right now. Only thing I think may happen that will be robbery is if Kawhi isn't in the top 40.
