The NBA is doing better than ever.
Almost all sports are doing better in the internet age. The finals are going to be a bore. GS is going to romp everyone.

For me its just not good for the game. I hope KD is on another team next year. Doubtful though.

Yeah my NBA interest continues to wane. Doesn't help that the Knicks have been a tire fire for 20 years and lost the lottery again last night (as if there was any doubt).

The league won't let the fighting Lebrons get beat very easily. They didn't let it happen last year and the series is destined to be one-sided officiating again this time around.

Interesting that its Knicks, Hawks, and Thunder fans lamenting the demise of the NBA. Its almost as if an individual fan's interest is directly tied to the relevance of their individual team.

You think Durant going to the Warriors was good for the NBA?

I certainly don't think he "ruined" it.

And if the Warriors win the title in 5 games? If KD signs there for the next 5 years and they win 4 of the next 5?

In the spirit of what competitive sports are about this crossed a line even moreso than what the Heat did 7 years ago.

    It still won't be ruined.

The NBA is about personalities, not teams. The league has never had more interesting, talented personalities.

No it didn't. What the Heat did was bring together multiple free agents. KD signed on his own.

KD is a top 5 player. Arguably the second best player in the NBA. He signed with a team that broke the single season record for most wins. That is undoubtedly worse than what the Heat did.

But how exciting is a single personality when there is zero chance of that player ever being a champion. Sure Westbrook is fun to watch, but his teams will never win anything. I think the aspect of competition amongst teams vying to win a title is far more exciting than keying in a player on a pointless team.

The NBA is a joke for many reasons.

    1. The regular season is completely meaningless... You see this by the Cavs winning 50 games and then decide to steamroll everyone in the playoffs

    2. Putting 16 teams in the playoffs is a joke. Seriously, it's statistically harder to miss the playoffs than to make them. That shouldn't be.

    3. Compounding point 2, making each playoff series 7 games is ridiculous. Because as the Cavs and Warriors steamroll everyone, they then don't play for a week. We might have to go 9 days between the conference finals and the finals. Why do they do this?

    4. It's so strange to me that the western conference finals started before the eastern conference semi-final ended.

Anyways... there's no point in watching til the end because the end was so obvious since the beginning. It will be a Cavs/Warriors finals. We could have saved a lot of time

It's because the NBA is more entertainment than sport. What people say on twitter gets more attention than what they do on the court.

These have been the worst NBA playoffs I can remember.

Maybe the NBA is doing well in terms of dollars and cents but they are going to have a big problem moving forward when its the Warriors vs Cavs for the next 4 years.

I am inclined to disagree, but agree with some of what you are saying. It's not the NBA's problem that there is no parity and that these current players are all cowards. It's the fans who have to put up with an awful product year after year. The league cares about the bottom line and nothing else. Only way we see any change is if that bottom line doesn't look so good. We know that will never be the case.

Fixed? It seemed like a sucker bet to take Cleveland -17 even with everything that had happened. Something didn't add up for me. Blow a 21 point lead and the "greatest of all time" completely disappears?
