Former Brave Jordan Schafer may make MLB again as LHP...

Jordan Schafer is pitching for the Dodgers AA affiliate now and actually doing great through six games. If he keeps it up he'll probably make MLB again as a LHP reliever. He might prove a pretty good one too. Check out his stats so far: http://m.mlb.com/player/457788/jordan-schafer

He apparently sits around 89-91 with his fastball. Maybe we can get him on the cheap to replace EOF later this season? Then he can play OF if anyone gets hurt and even pinch run and steal bases. That would make him a nice player to have if his pitching works out.

Here's a link of video of him pitching: https://twitter.com/BravesReddit/sta...61020794023936.

No, but he has 10 K's and only 1 BB in his 9 innings so far. No earned runs either. Pretty good start IMO. Plus being a lefty if he can just get lefties out at a good rate you have yourself a good lefty specialist.

This article says he can touch 92 mph with his fastball and can throw his curveball for strikes and also has a slider and change-up he mixes in too: http://www.dailynews.com/sports/2016...f-as-a-pitcher.

This story makes me want to see Simmons (now with the Angels) closing a game just once. I could picture him 97-99 mph a la Viz or Kimbrel. :)

As long as he doesn't live high in the zone, I think he'll be alright.

If he can get high enough, he might smoke that catcher's mitt.

I'm imagining that Kenny Rogers song with the kid throwing the ball in the air.
