He needs to leave him in even if the offense gets a few on. None of our bench players are reliable enough to count on getting a pinch hit. Let the kid go for 7 innings and rest the bullpen a bit.

I think Fredi is managing to save his job. I agree that Mallex should be playing every day though. He has looked pretty bad against LHers, but he stayed on a pitch well last night when he doubled to CF off the BoSox LHed reliever.
