yes it is.. everyone knows EOF is not good anymore and doesn't need to be in high leverage situations. JJ needed to pitch to Rizzo.. he had a much higher chance of getting a ground ball out of Rizzo.. Rizzo is not bad enough against lefties to say it is safe to have EOF faces him..

JJ Gb/FO ratio is almost twice as good as EOF.. match ups are not the only thing an manager needs to consider..

If Freeman played half his games in Wrigley he would probably have a few more HRs each year too.
    Rizzo in 2014:
    .286/.386/.527 with 32 HRs

    Rizzo in 2015:
    .278/.387/.512 with 31 HRs

    Rizzo in 2016:
    .213/.379/.587 with 8 HRs

    Freeman in 2014:
    .288/.386/.461 with 18 HRs

    Freeman in 2015:
    .276/.370/.471 with 18 HRs

    Freeman in 2015:
    .247/363/364 with 3 HRs

Rizzo was pretty slow starting off his career but the last couple of years he's been a better hitter than Freeman.

And didn't you know? You don't have to pitch your best pitcher in the 9th, you can use him everyday at any time.

And if you can't hit, you can bunt to move a runner over, and over, and over, eventually he will get home depending on how many outs there are.

come on Striker... Rizzo plays in a better lineup and a much, much friendlier park.. FF is fine..

Blair pitched well against a tough lineup in Wrigley. That's the only thing I'm taking from today.

Also hurts that the NL East minus Philly is full of pitcher's parks.

I'm not saying Freddie is bad, just that at this point in his career he should be hitting 30 HRs a year with a .900 OPS.

Also, the ballpark isn't that big of a factor. Rizzo has arguably been better away from Wrigley. In 2014 and 2015 he hit a total of 38 HRs away and 25 HRs at home. His OPS in 2014 was .943 at home and .882 on the road. In 2015 his OPS was .860 at home and .930 on the road.

Freddie and Rizzo are actually very similar. But the fact is that Rizzo has taken his game up a notch while Freeman hasn't. That's not saying Freddie is bad. He's an excellent hitter but he should be better. Maybe Freddie takes it to that level last year if he doesn't hurt his wrist. I don't know. There just really isn't reason that a healthy Freeman shouldn't hit 30 HRs with a .900 OPS.

That really is the area he needs to improve. The power's there. It just needs to show up in games more often.

Castro needs a day off. If i looked at stats correctly, he is 0-21 the last 5 days.

Also a little bit on the players.
