Don't worry. I hear they are scouting this guy pretty heavily.

The way I see it, the spots that make the most sense for power are right field and left field. I'm still on board with dealing Inciarte, as long as we are comfortable Mallex can handle center.
There aren't many obvious trade candidates for corner OF power. I've always been a big Soler fan, but he continues to put up subpar numbers so he might not be a huge difference maker.
Two other young options I thought of are Stephen Piscotty and Wil Myers. I think Myers could make a lot of sense for us, especially since San Diego is likely going into rebuild mode. I know he's not a perfect player, but he's still young and is somewhat of a post-hype guy. The right-handed power is something we could desperately use in the future.
Dan Uggla is available.

This is why I'm hoping Lewis is available at 3. He's to only true masher I see worthy of that pick who will be ready anytime soon. He fits perfectly in right.
Other than that I think it's going to take us trading from pitching depth. And I don't think we're going to like it. I could see us dealing someone like Fried or even Newcomb for a fairly unexciting bat.

He's an injury liability, but I'm more than happy to grab Myers. When healthy, he's a stud.
We can always try to talk this guy out of retirement:

Im optimistic on guys like Peterson finally being healthy and developing a little pop. Maybe 15 hr power, probably with a lot of doubles.

I assume we make a big trade in the offseason for a power bat. Just dont' know who that guy would be and scared of what it would cost.
I am fine with not having 3 or 4 mashers in the lineup. I think we need to cut down on the Ks though.. we can't have 8 -10 Ks a game and no power. I am hoping Mallex cuts down on his Ks. If so, we could have Mallex/Inciarte in the same outfield. Get a 10 -15 homer catcher.. A LF with big power potential and with FF we would be fine. If Ruiz is good at 3rd, then he would have probably doubles power and could hit 10 -15..
again, I am fine with be in the lower half of power.. but we need speed and high OBP to balance that off.

If Sims continues to grow and show he's the real deal and Fried and Allard show they are healthy the rest of the season then I'd be ok putting Newcomb in a deal for a power bat like Arenado or somebody. McMahon is getting close to being ready so I could see them shopping him.

I'm not that much of a Myers fan, but I think he fits in the type of player we could reasonably acquire and who would bring some power to the line-up.
Longoria got some pop still?

That would be a lineup that has the potential to keep the line moving. Freeman and Braun in the middle can hit for power and average, and you have speed all over that lineup

Have the Braves ever acquired a player with a past suspension for PED use?
