It's the Angels, so that goes without saying.

the same reason the constant whiners click in threads and post.

and it's not all whining, so there's always valuable stuff.

and i also spend much more time talking about baseball; most of the whiners whine almost exclusively.

Seiko? Chacin is a Timex that's stopped working quite a few times and was found on top of a trash can after yet another person gave up on it.

Why the hell did they trade Chacin?!? Damnit. I had him resigning to a 5 year deal and being the veteran presence this club needs after we dump that scrub JT.. I hate the Braves sometimes..

Didn't we draft a hundred college pitchers in the middle rounds? Can't one of those guys be a good lh rp?

23 and not in a ball

I don't see the point. Unless you just want to clear a spot so you can give Jenkins a shot.

Relievers are so unpredictable that the best you can usually do is just amass a bunch of live arms and hope some turn out. So it's possible some of the pitchers we drafted could turn into lefty relievers. However it doesn't hurt at all to add more.

I hate it, not so much because I like Chacin so much, just another sign to me that I cannot trust this FO to know what they're doing.

Like the trade or not, someone in the FO obviously was not high on Chacin. I think we could of gotten more, but I'm not against trading him. More depth is never bad.

The only reason I think it's a bad trade is because players like Chacin could be packaged with players like Aybar and KJ to a contender for a prospect that is at least decent. Kinda like how KJ and Uribe were packaged together to get Gant...you know, an actual prospect.

Maybe this tall lefty turns into a decent LOOGY, who knows. Maybe Coppy is having visions about Grilli's trade value vanishing so didn't want to wait with Chacin, who knows. Maybe they've just had a hard-on for this kid for years and wanted to snatch him up.

Ah yes - that highly rated prospect that was John Gant. One of those guys that so many here screamed was such a terrible return when he was dealt for last season. The same John Gant who didn't even draw a mention as a "Grade C" prospect from Sickels before last season and was nowhere to be found on Mets' prospect lists anywhere.

Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

I know, that was made clear in ST and that is part of what bothers me. They seem to have more in the FO that love hard throwers but underrate some real pitchers. That is going to backfire I'm afraid.

Also, lefty relievers like this kid can be had all the time for little to nothing. I've seen just as good or better on the waiver wire in fact.

The guy the Braves just got is 23 and in rookie ball. Do you know where Gant was when he was 23? Oh wait, that's this year, when he's in Atlanta having already thrown 7 innings at the MLB level after putting up 24 innings of sub-3.00 ERA at AAA.

You say a lot of really stupid things, but comparing Gant and this new guy as if Gant was anywhere near the same level of non-prospect tops the list.

I swear the posters on this site used to more knowledgeable, right?

I don't know if this kid is any good or not, but he was tabbed as a likely 2nd round pick out of high school before he had arm surgery. He's since recovered and bounced around a bit. So that's how he got to be 23. I'm not much on the return, but you don't find LHPs who throw 95 that often and it's obvious the Braves are taking a chance that he might develop. It is an odd deal.
