Actually I've often thought of 6th as a second leadoff spot. A guy with some speed and on base skills makes sense there since they have a chance to be driven in by the next two guys before you get to the pitcher. A speed guy at 8th makes no sense. Which is why Mallex in ninth is better than 8th. But not optimal imo.Originally Posted by The Don

And unfortunately hasn't really hit in any of those spots. Another month of this and I'm going to begin worrying that his great year with the bat last year might be more illusory than indicative.
