They moved Aybar up. What is the team trying to prove with him? He's horrible.

Well, they are not going to win many games, so instead of trying to optimize the lineup the smart thing is to play him and hope he can regain his former level at the plate and thus build some sort of trade value. Think of it like this, if they bench him he has a ZERO % chance of building any value, if they play him he has a non zero chance of it (even if the odds are slim)

They might have better luck building up Castro's trade value.

Castro is what he is, a slick fielding, light batted infielder. There are a fair amount of those out there. Castro is at most a throw in on a bigger deal. Aybar has a track record of success that , at his age of only 29, he might possibly recover.

From the looks of it the Braves are looking for butts in the seats too. Ballpark looks barren.

It clearly won't last but d'Arnaud has been a beast in 12 games so far

I hope Markakis decline hasn't already started, he's looked terrible lately. He sure isn't helping us trade him.

It's too small of a sample size to even begin thinking so, BUT he has been woeful.

still tho, at 32 he shouldn't just fall off the map. decline yes, but not go from avg to worst player in baseball

I'm afraid it as. Defense has taken another step back. K rate has increased. Only saving grace is that his BB% has increased but it's not uncommon for both the K and BB rate to increase at the same time once a player starts to decline (Uggla). Power is still as bad as it was. No positives at all really.
