Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
His 5 year TJ honeymoon is over. About time for TJ #2.

I'd written about how great Alex Wood was two days ago, now he's on DL with a sore elbow. I am the angel of death: http://m.dodgers.mlb.com/news/article/180802788 …

I hope it's just a strain or soreness and not TJ2, even if it would make the FO look smart, I hate seeing young guys go down for good like that

Stinks for him because he was pitching pretty well lately. Hope he can rest it up and be okay, but we know that's probably not the case. There is zero way this could make the front office look smart either. Consider the woman beater.

Does this mean we won the Olivera deal?

Great guy and hope it's nothing.
The braves thought he'd get hurt. They all but said that. Still doesn't excuse dumping him and peraza for a 30 yo who sucks and a broken rp. They better hope the pick and or bird somehow are great

Sad that posters get excited about Wood getting hurt so they can rush to defend the FO

Poor Alex. I can't even imagine how painful it must be for Broken Wood.

Sad that some idiots think that's what the thread is about - particularly since no one has posted anything of the sort. Yet another example of you trying to put words in someone else's mouth. Keep trying troll.
It's news - plain and simple, and bad news for a good kid (and personal favorite since he grew up less than 90 miles from here).
The biggest news about it - since YOU brought it up - is that no matter how much you want to hate on the current regime, they're right in trying to continue to stockpile arms - no matter how bad your offense is. Cheap arms and established bats is pretty much the only way small- and mid-market teams can compete. If huge chunks of your payroll are committed to players who are "one pitch away" and you don't have multiple inexpensive options available behind them, you're screwed.
I've always been (and still am) fine with contenders blowing the budget for an "Ace" or a "star" - if he's the last piece. However, if your other important support pieces are Pitchers with injury histories that you can't easily replace, you're playing with fire. The Dodgers gambled and lost on Beachy, the Royals have gambled and lost on Medlen and Minor to this point. If they want to stay in the race, they're going to have to eventually empty their farm systems because there aren't any free-agent arms to buy in June.

Urias was called up and he'll pitch Saturday.
Kershaw on Friday, Urias on Saturday, fun fun.
