You can't kill them for miscalculating earlier without giving them credit for being so precise now. It goes both ways, you could easily argue no other team better utilized their draft pool than Atlanta.

I think the earlier gaffe--and I'm not making excuses here--was a misinterpretation of the rules. They were always going to spend right to their max. Had Anthony signed, there wouldn't have been money to go over slot on Shumpert.
