Our high school pitching draftees are killing it. The only blip on the radar has been Wentz's first start after moving up a level.

You watch your mouth. Wentz is a legend. He once beat Chuck Norris in a staring contest.

Someone caught Ventura stealing. Can we trade for that guy?

    Congrats to Anderson... great line.

Would like to see Riley step forward a bit over the last few weeks.

Yeah. His strikeout rate has been declining too. I think he's wearing down a bit. It is a bit of an acclimation process for these kids (and he's only 18) to get used to pitching every 5th day in a full-season league.

He'll end up at about 120-125 innings. Then 140-150 the next year. Then 170-180. That's the idea with young pitchers. Build up their load 10-20% each year.

Not that I know anything particular, but could Swanson be getting wore out? What has his workload usually been vs MiLB?

Didn't even think about that for some reason, but I'm sure it's playing a (potentially large) part. Definitely getting tired, but an impressive season nonetheless.

Nice night for Kevin Josephina with the game-tying HR for Rome. Interesting player, he was billed alongside Albies as a solid signing in 2013. I believe LHP Luis Barrios was the most sought-after of our signings that season and he has done nothing but struggle with his control since turning pro.

so what about this Morales kid. I know he started the season a blaze but went into an extended slump where his average fell below .250.. He has been hot again.. but what I just noticed is he has thrown out 34 of 69 base runners. Basically 50%.. That is really high. He is 21 and in A ball. I hope they move him soon so they can test him more and also get Herbert more reps anyway.

Yeah, I think that is the likely situation. He's been slowly having his strikeout rate decline over the past few games and gotten slowly worse as he approached the middle of the season. Hopefully fatigue anyway, hard to find young pitchers with his sort of contro.
