With Michel moving up to the GCL that OF is pretty crowded. Wonder if Concepcion or someone else gets moved up to Danville soon so Ventura, Pache, and Michel can play everyday.

Does anyone know when Brady Feigel should be ready to pitch again? He's on Gwinnett's roster. Thanks.

Bring him up and send crappy Wisler down. Of course Whalen will probably stink it up too since all the Braves top pitching prospects have been garbage in the big leagues.

Since June 1st, Braxton has hit 8 home runs.

Austin Riley has also homered tonight for his 10th HR. He has hit 7 since June 1st.

Travis Demeritte has hit 12 HR since June 1st.

Unfortunately he's been worse than ever over the past month in terms of contact and K rate. Hitting .228 and striking out in over a third of his ABs over the past month. All the power in the world is going to mean nothing if he can't make consistent contact. I'd rather see zero homers and a .275 avg from Braxton at the moment, would give me much more hope for him as a prospect.

Yeah, he's a garbage prospect. Stevie Wonder would have better contact rates at the plate.

I would not. If he's hitting .275 with no power, I have little hope in him. If he's at least hitting for power and showing good walk rates, I have hopes he can get the Ks down and the average up eventually.

Next year is a big year for him. He still has time, but not a ton of it.

I definitely never thought we would be talking this much about Rob Whalen. Again, this is what's so exciting about our system right now. We have a bunch of guys we all identify as high-ceiling, exciting talents...and we still have a bunch of guys in the category with Whalen (Gant, Povse, Weigel, etc.) who could still turn out to be good major leaguers.

The problem there is that it's fairly common for players to develop more power as they move up levels, it's extremely rare to go from having crappy contact rates to having good ones.

I would much rather see Davidson posting Dustin Peterson type numbers than 25 HR power for example. Even though Peterson has profiled more as an average corner OF with the numbers he's putting up right now, if Peterson has a few more of those doubles he's hitting turn into HRs as he gets older he has a chance to be far more than that.

I'd agree about next year though, if he can't show contact skills next year, it's unlikely he ever does.

Anybody know if he worked on a new pitch or improved something significantly once he got traded to us? Because his K rates jumped like crazy since he got traded to us. Just curious what might have caused the change. He's been a very pleasant surprise along with Gant.

I have heard this, but is there some evidence to support it or just a perception? Honest question!
