It does seem a lot of the guys we've brought up have been universally unimpressive. Yeah, I know, young pitchers.

The Braves have made it a habit of calling up pitchers without giving them a chance to have a run of success in AAA. Once in a while you get an exception who can make the jump from AA to the majors and not miss a beat. But for most players some experience in AAA tends to be useful.
