Last game will be Friday. Quite a career but ultimately his legacy will always be complicated.

No complication on his legacy.
If Bonds doesn't get in with no real proof of him using, A-Rod should definitely never get in.
His legacy for me:
-He was supposed to be the all natural superstar. Before he got caught, nobody would have ever thought he would be using.
-Went to sleep a Brave, woke up a Ranger.
-Became a bigger douche after the PED admissions in the Couric Interview. Became a legendary douche the last few years with the suspension.
Forever Fredi
Well yeah, for me personally, he is a cheat and a stain on the game's history. But because he was a Yankee, his legacy will be more complicated in a broader sense. If he was a Brave retiring now, ESPN wouldn't have wall to wall coverage of it.
Interesting names retiring this year. Which ones will make the HOF:
Arod: Roid issues but obviously his stats are in elite company.
Tex: His career petered out Dale Murphy style, but he was great in his prime, and a decent defender at first.
Ortiz: Great offensive player, but terrible defender. Would be a shame if Ortiz gets in before Edgar Martinez does.
thank you weso1!
Ped user and now quitter mid season. Awesome way to go out, phenom to disgraced superstar to quitter. Six weeks to go loser!!!
With Texeira & ARoid off the payroll, maybe the Yankees will be willing to eat some of McCann's salary now.
To be honest, I don't think this was his choice. I think the yanks told him to retire or they would release him. So they are going to release him after the game Friday and resign him to be an assistant.....
Get off my lawn!
Wow, retiring at 696 homers.

He is, yeah. From what I read he would be starting the coaching gig next year. Apparently he's flying "home" to Miami after his last game on Friday.
For the game of baseball it's sad to see what became of ARod. Bonds and Arod are the two best talents of the last 40 years IMO so it's pathetic to see that they tainted their careers with PEDs. They could have been immortalized in the top 10 of all-time players yet they will be remembered as the faces (along with Clemens) of the steroid era. History won't be kind to them. 50-60 years from now they will be forgotten for the most part with the likes of Pedro, Maddux, Johnson, Griffey, Pujols, etc being the big HOF stars of this era.
