It's always difficult for me to discern "who is what?" from GCL stats. Looks like Reyes is head-and-shoulders above pretty much everyone else among offensive prospects. Some nice pitching performances.

Reed Harper, younger brother of Ryne Harper, did not dip below .300 until final weekend. He was very consistent after being a late round pick this June.

For guys drafted as college seniors, like Reed Harper and Mikey Reynolds (who played in Danville), we won't know what we have until they get into a full-season league. If they had failed in rookie league, we would know they are washouts. Succeeding in rookie leagues is like holding serve for them. It isn't a bad thing, but we can't really say they are bona fide prospects yet.

Same goes for some of the older college pitchers who did well in the GCL and in Danville.

I tell you, Ian Thomas is a guy to watch as well. He may be 26 but he is in AA and his numbers are very very good. A guy the Braves scouts signed out of the Independent league last year has been down right filthy. He's been used as a reliever and as a starter and has done a great job in either situation. May become just a bullpen arm or could become a decent back end rotation guy. Obviously all of these pitchers will not make it but there will be a few and at least 1 or 2 who really shine and that's all you can ask for.

I think Kyle Wren has shown he can handle A ball. He's another guy I'm very interested in. Not much power but the kid obviously knows how to swipe a bag and seems to have a great feel for the strike zone just by looking at his K's and BB. If he shows me he can handle the higher levels then I may hitch myself to his bandwagon like I have La Stella's.
