How horrible. Prayers for his family, friends, and teammates. Just 24 years young. Tragic.
Awful - that's so sad 🙁
Prayers to his family. Shocking. Unreal
Chopping With The Braves And Rolling With The Tide
My god this is horrible....such a great kid and a great talent...truly at a loss for words.
Not very important considering the overall news, today's Braves/Marlins cancelled

Wow I thought maybe it was someone else, now it is front page news. Truly awful to hear this.

Terrible news.
The really numbing part is that if his start would not have been pushed back, he would not have been out that late most likely and still be alive. This is so sad...man.
Man... he was a really good guy from what I understand to. 3 others were also killed. I hope alcohol wasn't involved on his side so the media won't tarnish his image at all. One of the truly great young superstar pitchers to ever play the game. The numbers he put up in his 4 MLB seasons were astounding, here's what I put on my Facebook:
Only 24 and had 76 games started already in his career... was a superstar at the age of 20... career MLB ERA of 2.58 and a 38-17 record... not to mention he had Tommy John Surgery and still put up those numbers. 589 strikeouts in 471 innings pitched... that's absurd.

Was on a Hall of Fame trajectory. Very sad.

Just shocking. So awful, I'm sick to my stomach. His whole life ahead of him. Life is precious.
This is just crazy. He may have been the most talented young pitcher in baseball and was probably gonna be the highest paid in a few years. Horrible horrible news for the Marlins and MLB as a whole. There is no replacing a talent like his on your team. Prayers to him and his family.
Wow! I'm in disbelief! Such an awesome player!
That is ****ing awful.
Sick to my stomach. This is terrible.
unbelievable
If you want to start the day with some tears, watch this video of him talking about leaving Cuba, saving his mom on the journey and then reuniting with his grandma:

Devastating loss for his family. For his friends and teammates. For the Marlins organization. For all baseball fans in general. Such a young talent. I was very impressed by how he carried himself after that run-in with the Braves during his rookie season, with his sincere and teary-eyed apology to the Braves organization.
