Minors report 901: Final Danville stats

--The Mississippi Braves jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on Saturday night, but the Jacksonville Suns came clawing back in the middle innings, taking game three of a five-game series 5-3 at Bragan Field.

Mississippi got to Suns starter Adam Conley early, scoring three in the first four innings.

In the second, Robby Hefflinger clubbed a line drive singled to center, and Christian Marrero singled to right with two outs. Hefflinger stretched it from first to third, and an errant throw from Keys in right allowed the run to score.

Then in the fourth, a leadoff walk to Jose Martinez set up a Jaime Pedroza RBI double, staking the Braves to a 2-0 lead. A wild pitch moved Pedroza to third, setting up a Barrett Kleinknecht sacrifice fly to make it 3-0.

With Mobile's win over Pensacola, the Braves remain the leaders in the wildcard, and they could clinch a playoff spot as early as Sunday. With a Braves win and a Mobile win over Pensacola, the Braves would lock up their spot in the wildcard.

Game four in Jacksonville and the potential clincher for the Braves begins Sunday at 6:05 PM CT. Right-hander Gus Schlosser (7-5, 2.44) takes on right-hander Bryan Evans (6-5, 3.68) for the Suns.

Looks like Wren got promoted to Lynchburg. Has a walk in his first two AB's but was caught stealing.

I am excited to see what Caratini does next year. The HR's may not be there but 25 XBH in 200 AB's is a good sign that those number will come. He also seems to have really good plate discipline. He just turned 20 so he'll be 20 in Rome which is about average I would assume. We seem to have a nice number of young position players in the system now and it should be exciting to see how they progress in the next 2-3 years.

I would say that 20 is even on the youngish side for Rome. Not crazy young obviously but still a great sign like you pointed out. He had a great first year and the future looks bright.

Another good night by Gattis which is encouraging. It's too bad Buchter can't seem to get his control problems figured out because he is blowing people away in AAA. My man Tommy La Stella just keeps hitting dude is unreal.
