    Dave Stewart Fired

Along with Chip Hale. No more trades with the DBacks for awhile I guess.

Sounds like he had enough foresight to get the John Schuerholz Deluxe Accountability Plan.

I actually feel really bad for how terrible that Miller-Swanson deal ended up being for Stewart. I wanted Shelby to light it up for them and win 15+ games and helping lead them into the play-offs, justifying the trade. But that's a prime example of what can go extremely wrong when you put all your eggs in one basket. That basket was dropped, run over, and blown up. Now we'll be lucky if Arizona even answers our calls for the next 20 years until Dansby, Ender and Touki are all out of baseball.

Probably increases our chances of dealing with them. Any smart GM would come in and clear house in a sellers market and reload their farm system. I bet their owner would have vetoed any deal with Atlanta. A new GM likely won't have that kind of restriction.

So did I. I feel really bad. I'm so happy we got away with it, but man. It really does make me like Coppy even more - dude obviously had a MASSIVE asking price - and it worked out.

You win some and you lose some. For every complete steal we had with Shelby Miller, there is a Hector Olivera. A good GM, Coppy for example, gets more Millers and less Oliveras.

the HO trade was not even in the same universe as the Miller trade. It may not even be in the same class as the Touki steal..

Lets see how Paco plays out and if Bird ever figures anything out.. and don't forget our draft last year was a big part of the extra money from the pick we got. The HO trade was bad, but that would be a Dave Stewart success based on his moves.
