Man of Steel is an origins movie before the boy scout persona. Once he killed Zod he never vows to kill every again because of the pain he experienced.

Still makes NO SENSE AT ALL. It's a mess start to finish. I mean, what was Jor El's plan? What was supposed to happen with all the Kryptonian DNA stuff in Superman?

We see that Clark can snap Zod's neck at any time. Wouldn't it be more effective to see Superman racing to save people and contain the damage?

And seriously, put your right hand at the side of your face. Pretend it's Superman trying to keep you from burning a family with your heat vision. Now then. Move your eyeballs to the right without moving your head. Yeah.

And while I loved the Lois as detective storyline, I didn't see her doing anything that pretty much anyone else on the planet couldn't do. Which is either lazy writing or a great set up.

But my point was more that DC/Warner seems to think that dark and gritty is the only way to go. It's not. There's a whole spectrum of mythic storytelling potential in the milieu, and Cap showed how one different aspect can work beautifully.

DC/Warner was drawn because of Dark Knight trilogy. Dark Knight was a great vessel for the darkness because of it's natural dark tones. Superman didn't have that tone. It's more truth justice and the American way and should have drawn from that.

It could've been done right I agree, but it wasn't that bad of a Superman flick IMO.

Snyder is now confirmed to do Justice League... Warner is really really really gambling with Snyder.

Snyder sucks. He's a terrible director. He has 2 OK movies he directed, Dawn of the Dead and Watchmen. Sucker Punch was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

I personally loved Man of Steel. Not nearly as much as I enjoy SUperman 1 and 2, but Man of Steel was a definitely in the upper echelon of super hero movies. I liked it better than any of the Spiderman movies, the originals or the reboot.

were really the only really good Snyder movies I liked. I don't hate Man of Steel, but it's nothing like Nolan's Batman Trilogy.

    Holy ****ing ****

The upper echelon of superhero movies are, The Avengers, The Dark Knight, Original SUperman, original Batman, Spiderman 2,Iron Man, X2, and a few others. You have the worst taste.

300 is a horrible movie, I enjoy it as a camp film, but it's totally horrific, terribly directed, the writing is horrible, etc.

300 is about entertainment. Nobody watched 300 for the storytelling or writing.

It was all about 300 spartans fighting thousands of enemies. It was marketed as a testosterone war-type flick, and that's what it is.

Yes, but it's not a "good" movie. You can enjoy it as I enjoy terrible movies. But it's exceptionally bad. Way worse than Watchmen or Dawn of the Dead. Still say, Sucker Punch is the worst.

Never watched Sucker Punch, know the premise but here it's terrible.

I actually enjoyed Man of a Steel over any of those Marval movies.
Watchmen was horrible. But I was never into any of that comic book/superhero crap so I can see how people that like and read that stuff would enjoy it.

    Why the Avengers hate?

It's difficult having all of them together without making one look less important.

It was a fun movie, with a chance to see some of the favorite marvel guys not named Spider-Man or part of the X-Men.

There are plenty, Evil Dead being probably number 1. Lots of campy 80s movies. 300, bad 90s comedies (think Airheads) sometimes there's something awesome to something that truly sucks. But You can only handle so much suck. Snyder is chock full of suck.

For real? Marvel Universe of movies are the best superhero movies. Not in the realm of best ala Dark Knight which is a twist on the classic, but best in the mold of traditional. And hating Spiderman 2 and X2 is criminal.

Watchmen movie wasn't close to the comic and the changes made to it were terrible. But it's still a decent superhero movie.

Watchmen was the best comic I think I've read. It really should have been done as 2 movies to not screw it up, but it's hard to greenlight a project like that in today's movie world. Give that 2 films to a visionary not Michael Bay 2.0 and you have classic cinema potential .
