I hate admitting it, but sometimes I think the quiet majority may just have bad taste.

They're certainly not the quiet majority if they're the ones pushing these box office numbers for MCU, Fast and Furious and other franchises.

Got roped into seeing Goodbye Christopher Robin (double-header weekend with Ragnarok in the opener). Interesting movie. Domhnall Gleeson must be the busiest guy in the business right now. It's a great story and it's told quite well, but don't go to the theater thinking you'll be seeing the feel-good movie of the year because it involves Winnie the Pooh. Kelly McDonald is great in her role and she's a great actress, but I simply cannot separate her from her character in Boardwalk Empire, who I thought was the most annoying character in television history.

I think Domnhall Gleeson is well on his way to perhaps becoming another Karl Urban in the regard of "I know that guy, what's his name" May never be a household name, but a damn fine actor.

Justice League was just ok. DC trying to be too much like Marvel and not succeeding.

Weird coincidence, indeed. I liked Logan, but I'd have to think Lucky is still better. I haven't seen Logan Lucky—it looked ****ty to me in trailer form; but hell, what do I know—it carries good reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, and it's Soderbergh (who I sometimes like).
Logan Lucky was pretty good. I wouldn't gush over it because that style of film is rarely worth gushing over. But the cast was great the plot worked out great and like the Oceans films everything kind of "worked" but not quite. It's quotable, mostly memorable, and enjoyable. It won't be a film that's worth seeing over and over again but it makes for a good popcorn flick. Kind of like Baby Driver.

Just watched Wind River. Excellent. Great cast, good dialogue, no BS. It's a murder mystery set near an Indian reservation in Wyoming. Something about the sublime beauty of snow in the wilderness that makes a perfect background for a murder story.

Taylor Sheridan’s trilogy came to an end.

    Sicario
    Hell or High Water
    Wind River

Top notch movies all three of them.

Just saw Murder on the Orient.

Enjoyed the remake. Great cast. Branagh’s moustache is pretty distracting but other than that a great flick.

Just got out of Lady Bird. Fantastic coming of age movie that does a wonderful job of showing the struggles and pains of a middle class family navigating the waters of struggle. Main cast was superb.

I've seen a few good ones lately. Saw Darkest Hour tonight at a free AARP screening. Wanna fill a theater? Tell a bunch of 50-plussers about free tickets. Good movie. Oldman was awesome. I liked Dunkirk better. Mrs. 50# liked this one more.

Other recent viewings include: Ladybird. Great movie. Certain Oscar nomination for Laurie Metcalf and probably Saoirse Ronan in their respective acting categories and Gerwig for writing and directing. Roman J. Israel, Esq. was also pretty good. Story wasn't that great, but Denzel did his usual solid work.

This Disney purchase of Fox properties has me really amped to see the X-Men/Fantastic Four added to the MCU.

Avengers vs X-Men is going to happen. And it will be glorious.

I'm not stoked. As I said at another point, this is too much consolidation of media resources. Disney is the Comcast of movie distribution.

Curious as to what the negatives are here? I've only been concerned with the Marvel side of things.

I know it would be weird, but I really want to see Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman return. Deadpool added to the MCU will be glorious as well.

A lot less jobs for one. The writers union is trying to get the deal overturned.

Disney doesn’t for mature Tv shows. All the shows on FX are ****ed. The house of mouse would have never been associated with Sons of Anarchy

Disney will control roughly 40% of TV distribution and 40% of film distribution. That's too much power in the hands of one. One company controls that much of what we consume for media is dangerous.

Meh. Doesn’t seem like that big a deal to me.
