I couldn't agree more on McGuire, which is one of the reasons I really never liked the original Spiderman trilogy. The first two were ok, despite my disdain of McGuire as Spiderman, but the 3rd was so bad that it completely ruined that franchise for me (X3 almost did the same for the X-Men franchise). There were also some minor details that were different from the comics/cartoon that soured me as well, such as natural webbing vs. cartridges, the Venom storyline, etc.

I also agree on Garfield. A very good Spiderman, but a poor Peter Parker. I thought the first Amazing Spiderman had a good storyline with solid acting throughout. An enjoyable film that flowed well, even if it was a bit underwhelming for a superhero movie (I feel the same about the Hulk with Norton). The 2nd movie was simply terribly written, and even some solid acting couldn't save it. Not as bad as Spiderman 3, but the last scene with the Rhino basically encapsulates just how poorly written the entire film was.

As a side, I really bore of superhero films killing off major villains at the end films. Especially when the acting is great. It's nice when they leave open the possibility of bringing that character back.

Sony is struggling, they need the next Bond film to be a huge hit. Bigger than Skyfall. Spectre was a let down, which is a shame because Waltz was an amazing Blofield. Craig just wasn't really in the role as much as he was in Skyfall.
Right now Marvel pretty much has creative control. From what I understand Sony is pretty much financing it and getting the profits. but yeah they need some hits to get them going again. Homecoming could very well be the start of that.

Indiana Jones will return to the big screen on July 19, 2019, for a fifth epic adventure in the blockbuster series. Steven Spielberg, who directed all four previous films, will helm the as-yet-untitled project with star Harrison Ford reprising his iconic role. Franchise veterans Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will produce.

“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,” said Alan Horn, Chairman, The Walt Disney Studios. “It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”

I love Indy, I love Ford, but he's 74. He doesn't have much action left. Now Shia was a colossal failure as his son, but have him train a protege to take over or something. Honestly I expected the next Indy to be a reboot with a new star (Jeremy Renner, Karl Urban, or Joseph Gordon Levitt could easily fill that middle age adventurer roll quite well, though admittingly Levitt would fall into a younger role than that)

I agree with this 100%. I love Harrison Ford and I prefer him as Indy than Han Solo. I read that he got Lucas Film to sign off on this if he agreed to do Episode 7. So hopefully this is not just a money grab movie for him. I thought he brought his A game to Ep7 and even though it's just a trailer so far I'm liking the look of the new Blade Runner movie. Whatever they do with Indy I do hope it's done well and just not a way for him to make some quick cash. He's too iconic for that.

Taking the old man to see King Kong later tonight. From what I read its' exactly how I want it. Less human character development and more monsters and Kong. Unlike we kept getting from Transformers (forcing human characters I don't care about over more interesting sentient beings called the Transformers).

Logan was solid. It was no Deadpool, it was no Captain America: Winter Soldier, so on so forth, but it's a fitting end to Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart.

Don't even remotely understand where this takes place timewise.

I try not to get too wrapped up into the timeline with these XMen films, especially since DoFP basically threw the first 3 films in the franchise out the window.

It does, and references the Wolverine so it doesn't blow up the timeline. DOn't get me wrong, you can sideways explain it, but I think Mangold was giving a huge middlefinger to Bryan Singer's ****ty XVerse.

Saw Kong: SkullIsland, loved it. It embraced it's camp and ran wild with it. The tie in at the end was brilliant as well.

ALso Shea Whigham was ****ing amazing in the film. Wonder if he'll ever get a bigger supporting role.
