I still don't think we're going to be going after guys with a QO. I think we want to continue to build through the draft and losing a 2nd round pick isn't something we're going to want to do.
Food for thought:
Brad
12:05 Give me a breakout prospect in the Atlanta system in 2017.
Eric A Longenhagen
12:05 Jimmy Walker. Not as good as other arms in the system but an underrated relief prospect.
Julio Pepper
12:10 Are Laureano and Acuna top 50 prospects?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:10 Acuna maybe, Laureano probably not but I really like him.
Shawn Coleman
12:29 If you were another team talking with the braves, what pitching and hitting prospect would you be focused on in trying to acquire besides Albies, Allard, or Newcomb?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:29 Fired
Fried, not fired.
Jon
12:35 Which Atlanta pitching prospect has the best shot to reach his ceiling in your mind?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:35 Really good question. I assume you mean of the top arms and not some relief prospect that's already there. I'll say Kolby Allard.
(only included because I've been interested in the Braves acquiring Candelario for 3B long term)
BOBBBY
12:45 Zips has a pretty high opinion of Candelario for next year, is he ready to be an everyday third baseman?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:45 1B for me, low-end regular, 45 FV type of guyy
HOLY CRAP! White Sox got Moncada, Kopech, and TWO other prospects for Sale... we could have not come CLOSE to that.
The #WhiteSox will also acquire Basabe and V. Diaz from #RedSox
Jesus
Eh, I agree that there is a pretty big disparity between Moncada and Swanson, regardless of where they rank. And some may like Kopech over Newcomb. I think it would have taken at least Albies to make up the difference there. I think something like Swanson/Albies/Acuna/Allard would be comparable to Moncada/Kopech...then they gave up a little more.
A Sale-Price rotation certainly didn't come at a sale price
