For those wondering what "winning" might mean in this context my answer (and I think Kelly's) would be: 1) undermining Assad, 2) reducing Russian influence and 3) diminishing Iran's ability to operate across Syria.
As I've mentioned before the winners from our abdication in Syria are Assad, Russia and Iran, in that order.
