I really don't care whether my neighbor has those ideas or not. I do care that someone working for the president is trying to racialize our immigration system on the basis of white nationalist ideology.
In a similar vein, I don't care if my neighbor is an enthusiast for Sharia. But I do care when people take up arms on the basis of that ideology.
It is a fool's errand to try to patrol people's thoughts. Actions and policy are a different matter.

we can enforce our laws without racializing our immigration system based on a white nationalist ideology
we can enforce our laws in a way consistent with our values and without putting in place a policy of deterrence based upon separating children from their parents and keeping them in squalid conditions
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
also population mixing is literally in our DNA...even those of us who consider ourselves "pure"
there is a valid policy question of how many legal immigrants to allow and what the rules are governing who gets to come here...reasonable people can disagree on this
but the xenophobia that we see from thethe and others betrays a lack of understanding about how every nationality and ethnic group has been formed...there ain't a single ethnic group in that world that is not a product of mixture between pre-existing groups...xenophobia is an ideology based on ignorance and fear
i'll give an example...people living in India today are the result of a mixture of two populations (geneticists call them ANI and ASI for ancestral north indian and ancestral south indian)...that mixture took place 4000-5000 years ago....in turns the ANI are the product of an earlier mixture between people from Iran and a people sometimes called the Yamnaya who come from the steppe region around the Caspian Sea....and the ASI are themselves a product of a different mixture...and on it goes for every existing group today...the speciation of modern humans in Africa over 300,000 years ago appears to have been the result of a mixing of two populations
mixture is what made all of us what we are today...to deny it and be afraid of it is silly and ignorant

hell of a time to see someone say "i should be able to quote and link racists, nazis etc and not be labeled racist when i support and promote their opinions and it shouldn't cost me anything either"

I'm sure there are many that feel this way but there is plenty of data to support a position to end all illegal immigration and conduct further studies on the impact of high levels of legal immigration.
Things like Visa lottery and chain migration shouldn't course end immediately.
the dirty little secret about illegal immigration is that by and large Americans benefit from it...it is not really a problem...but it would be better to have a regular legal process for the people who come here to pick our crops, take care of our children as nannies, and literally put the roofs over our heads

I know this will come as a huge shock to all of us, but the Saugus shooter today had shown sympathy for the Christchurch mosque shooter on social media. You know, the one who livestreamed while he killed 50 people because whites were being replaced by immigrants and with Trump the white world finally had a symbol to rally behind to kill them all. No idea why any of that could sound familiar.
Of course, the media is mainly concentrating on the fact that he is half-Asian.
