Bc your boy is supportive of churches being shut down... and at his own convention had memebers of his party removing "God" from our national anthem. There is a clear disdain for Christianity from the left.

Nobody cares that Trump isn't a Christian himself... what we care about is he isn't actively trying to oppress Christianity in the country.

But there is also the question of whether a person who doesn't believe in God, much less the God of conservative Christians, is capable of being a good American, respectful of the freedom of religion that is part of our country. To me the answer is a resounding yes. There is no impediment to an atheist, or Hindu, or Buddhist or Muslim, or Marxist or liberal Democrat being as good an American as anyone else. Electing credibly accused creepy joe or someone that isn't part of a right-wing religious group doesn't threaten freedom of religion. It is simply a form of either paranoia or bigotry to assert something like that. But it does give a form of cover (as hypocritical as it might be) for supporting someone like very poorly chosen one, who in so many ways is the opposite of what Christians are taught to aspire to.

I don't think conservative Christians realize how much damage they have done to their standing with other Americans. Politics is about building coalitions. I know personally I have not always agreed with Evangelical Christians on all issues, but felt comfortable being part of a coalition with them on the basis of agreement on some issues. I have reassessed that. And I think I am not alone there. I do take some comfort in the growing signs of some Evangelical Christians splitting off from their brethren in terms of supporting very poorly chosen one. Hopefully, more will come to realize what a mistake they have been making.
