Teresa May calling for Internet regulations...

The biggest threat to our freedom is our own government, not a foreign enemy

The sensible thing would be to stop calling it terror. That word causes more harm to society than the killings themselves.

Going back to 9/11 - I still think that should have been treated as a police issue rather than a military/diplomatic issue.
Had it been treated as a crime rather than an act of war we could have avoided an awful lot of BS.
The 1993 bombing was treated as just that and largely forgotten today

I was and still am opposed to going into Afghanistan after binLaden.
thought it was knee jerk and elevated the act by turning the perpetrators into martyrs rather than common criminals

Criminals do not have the network of support that terrorists have. I find it so amusing that the left is willing to die on the cross over this issue. You will lose in the court of public opinion.

What does this have to do with "the left ..."

The notion of networks reinforces, no, is my point

    Court of public opinion ?

Virtue-signaling isn't always a bad thing. While I agree about the extent of its enforcement mechanisms, and while I don't think the measures of the Paris Agreement are nearly sufficient (and so I suppose you could argue it's a detrimental pact if too many cosigners treat it as such), I don't think it's trivial that essentially the whole planet got together and admitted it has a problem. And so the sort of virtues that leaving the Paris Agreement signals, on behalf of the US, are even more detrimental to the cause than an imperfect first-step.

I totally agree—but it's a baby-step, and I think it's pretty significant that essentially the entire globe coalesced around a step in the right direction, insufficient as it might be.

RUSSIAN MILITARY INTELLIGENCE executed a cyberattack on at least one U.S. voting software supplier and sent spear-phishing emails to more than 100 local election officials just days before last November’s presidential election, according to a highly classified intelligence report obtained by The Intercept.

Oh... so we believe the Intercept is a credible source now?

The Intercept is one of the more credible sources out there currently, in my opinion—which is likely why the receive so much scorn from so many ideological angles.

You must be talking about 666 Fifth Avenue.

Here's a podcast on it from Slate called "Criminal, or Stupid or Criminally Stupid"?

The Intercept published a post about an NSA report which concludes that Russia tried to hack into the computers of more than 100 U.S. voting officials in November 2016. That's the same Russia to which Trump recently disclosed top-secret Israeli intelligence.

But Putin told Megan Kelly they had nothing to do with it.

I am impressed by the whistle blower that stood her ground and didn't flee the country in fear of prosecution.

To answer your question, I accept all information and believe little.
If Intercept provides direct quotes and context they are credible. Whether I agree with their all of their conclusions (why) is another matter

Fair to condemn the leak. But also fair to ask: Was the admin going to tell us that NSA had proof of Russian hack of voting systems?
