    Gotcha.

There was a trial date attached to the rape allegations.
Remind me the trial date to the server

    Fake news. You're a hoot
There was a preliminary hearing scheduled. That's far, far different from a trial. But thank you for proving my point even more.

    Via The NY Times:

“I don’t want them moving out of the country without consequences,” Mr. Trump said, even if that means angering the free-market-oriented Republicans he beat in the primaries but will have to work with on Capitol Hill.

“The free market has been sorting it out and America’s been losing,” Mr. Pence added, as Mr. Trump interjected, “Every time, every time.”

    ------------

And this is why I could never vote for Trump/Pence.

    - I did look it up, and posted about it at the time: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...its-norm-lubow

    - Trump used the same mannerisms to mock Ted Cruz, Donna Brazille, and others. It wasn't news then.

Fake, inaccurate, misleading ... it can be couched a number of ways, but the facts are the facts.

    You can look it up.

No business is compelled to do anything. It's really funny, but when Democrats were taking this same line in the 1970s and 1980s, they were branded as socialists out to thwart the wishes of the American consumer and drive up prices.

You can pay a worker in Mexico in a day what you'd pay an American worker in an hour.

I'd say that's a pretty compelling reason to do business south of the border.

    Wouldn't you?

First off, you are mixing "compell" which means to force with "compelling" which means to illicit interest. But that's not the big problem with your answer.

It depends on how one views their place in the cosmos. Henry Ford (screwball anti-Semite though he was) turned the business world on its head at Ford plants throughout the country when he paid much higher wages than the competition. I paraphrase, but when Ford was asked why he paid what he paid, his response was basically "I want my workers to be able to afford what they build."

Now granted, that was almost a century ago and the world of consumer products has changed dramatically, but there's no question that Carrier would survive if it remained in the United States even without subsidies. Maybe some folks in the upper reaches don't do as well and investors don't do as well either (which is the biggest problem we face in our economy), but paying workers a decent wage and keeping the doors open shouldn't be the arduous task many make it out to be.

If he uses a charactorization of an afflicted person to mimic others, I guess it is ok then.
If you're like 14 or something

As far as the rape allegation, we witnessed equally flimsy evidence quetioning Obamas birth and HRC business dealings. etc
So far as trotting out 30 year old allegations that went away in much the same manner. Wonder if in 2028 when Ivanka is running if this story comes up again.

Point out here, you reintroduced the court date

It's lame, sure, but it wasn't reserved for Kovaleski in particular. Let's not forget to mention that Kovaleski reportedly isn't even spastic. Again, facts though.

What do you mean I reintroduced the court date?

If you are referring to the 35% tariff, he doubled down on that today. They would probably try and spin the Carrier deal as saving jobs before they were able to implement the tax into law.

Trump absolutely DID mock that reporters disability. Don't know how you can believe otherwise. To think that he didn't is to delude yourself, but he did plenty of other reprehensible things during the campaign, "blood coming out of wherever" comment, constantly railing on the media while he tells one lie after another, etc.

It's pretty clear that he was behaving that way to connect with his voting base, not because he believes those things himself. But if you repeat a lie long enough you do start to believe it too.

However, all that is ancient history and meaningless, considering the job he will soon have. America had its chance to judge him on his character and it chose not to. That wipes the slate clean on all that as far as I'm concerned, though it will never change what he did and said.

    let's say that's true

if they keep 40% of jobs here and ship the rest they get millions instead of being "punished"?

come on hawk, it's total bull**** and crony capitalism at the very least

he didn't even "save" half of the jobs and in no way "punished" the company like he said he would

as my mom told me a long time ago, words don't mean anything. actions speak louder than words

his actions on the "deal" show it's all total bull**** and more of middle america that voted against their best interest who thought he would save their job for some reason now know he was full of **** in this case

Did you even bother to look at Hawk's video? It's solid proof that he didn't.

I don't like what Trump did here. He basically used the power of the federal government to compel Carrier to keep jobs in the US. It's not much different then a christian bakery being fined for refusing to bake a cake for a gay wedding.
    thank you weso1!

He'll probably be better than Obama. Of course that's not saying much.

Don't get me wrong - I oppose the deal. It's a cheap optics play designed to appeal to people who don't read past the headlines or ticker. It doesn't accomplish anything and it's misguided. But at this point I'm willing to give Trump the benefit of the doubt and treat this as an awkward beginner's step in the right direction.

If the 35% tariff is actually put in place then I think we'd have a lot more to discuss, but everybody is so anxious to read the tea leaves that they're forgetting that the guy isn't even President yet.

I'm buckled in and enjoying the ride to hell. It's enjoyable watching the regressive left show every bit of its collective ass while at the same time Trump destroys conservatism.
    thank you weso1!
