There will be a deal today and Trump will be on a plane on his way to his lavish fundraiser and more rounds of golf in Florida.

Might be a really short-term thing to get us through to say, Tuesday. He'll probably tweet something along the lines of "Delay, delay, delay. No real leadership. SAD."

Pontius Pilate would be impressed with how you have washed your hands from the party of personal responsibility being at blame for not getting a deal done

Wait, so we could pass, in both chambers, a bipartisan compromise bill. The current house built won't pass the Senate, even on a partisan basis.

The "won't compromise" onus is on R immigration hardliners here. Trump, despite his earlier fumble, has a chance to show leadership and make a deal. Don't you think he should?

I'm sorry, but Lindsey Graham and Jeff Flake (and Lisa Murkowski, for that matter) don't represent a bipartisan Republican solution. That's a pretty moderate faction, IMO.

I would handle it at a more granular level. If you are contributing more than you are taking then I would have no problem giving them status. Allowing them to vote? Thats a big no for me.

Worth pointing out here that the R Congress let CHIP expire 4 months ago and could have funded it any time, but are now acting like Democrats are letting it die if they don't give in on DACA. Hardball, sure, but being played with the lives of the most vulnerable. Good peeps.

This is what we brought him for right? The art of the deal? President Tom Cotton, though, has to be good with it.

Here's Schumer in 2013 saying the Dems would Never use immigration as a chip in government shutdown negotiations.

Lamar Alexander, Mike Rounds, Cory Gardner. Plus Collins and the aforementioned three. At least.

Certainly a moderate faction. And in numbers enough to matter. I'm not sure what you're saying. Tom Cotton has to like it for it to be bipartisan?

Trump won primarily on immigration. The politics of Europe are changing primarily on immigration.

I am damn happy we are not compromising on immigration.

I'm saying that nominality doesn't define bipartisanship.

Then we better start arming the military and police with more stuff for when the 800K DACA people and whatever portion of the 3 million other Dreamers gets to stay starts spreading the word of ISIS. Maybe that'll get the deal done.

But that's the main reason, on my end, that the comprehensive immigration debate exists. Because there are people here who are working, paying taxes, and contributing to society that don't have a vote or a voice in our civic processes. You think they should stay here and work and contribute, but not have the opportunity to have a vote. I think that's fundamentally wrong. I'd trade border security and stricter immigration enforcement for a solution.

    Do a deal or no?

Amazing when Dems show their CONSTANT hypocrisy its wiped away with "evolving"

Remember when Pelosi said 3 bucks a day is a big victory? She's since evolved to crumbs lol

I'm just shocked a CNN anchor asked a question like that. Has she been fired yet?
