When Ivanka Trump traveled to Pyeongchang, South Korea, to attend the Olympic closing ceremony, President Trump tweeted: “My daughter, Ivanka, just arrived in South Korea. We cannot have a better, or smarter, person representing our country.”
“Why? Is there some rule against it?” a critic responded.

We're in danger when
a reality show actor faking a president
complains about a fake president
who is a real actor.
Our world turned upside down.

In the closed-door remarks, a recording of which was obtained by CNN, Trump also praised China's President Xi Jinping for recently consolidating power and extending his potential tenure, musing he wouldn't mind making such a maneuver himself.
"He's now president for life. President for life. No, he's great," Trump said. "And look, he was able to do that. I think it's great. Maybe we'll have to give that a shot some day."
I doubt they learned about it from Bannon, but Nader was a topic in his interview, noted a few weeks ago.
Kushner's Gulf State ****ery has the potential to be a very big deal, to put it mildly. It's hard to say right now what's what, but damn...he looks like he is primed for a fall. Maybe letting a callow and massively leveraged nepotism hire act as shadow Secretary of State wasn't such a hot idea.
I'm not really surprised that the Trump crowd has stepped in this much **** in a little over a year---I've always taken a rather cynical view that they were going to try to steal what they could as soon as they could. There's a certain logic to just matching up the obvious combination of cupidity and power in the Trump inner circle with the players who have money to throw around in order to influence policy--the Gulf States, China, the Kremlin/oligarch/OC axis. I'd be shocked if they didn't all try to get a bite of the apple, and there's circumstantial evidence to suggest that they all have.
Swedish appliance manufacturer Electrolux—Europe’s largest home appliance maker—says it will delay a planned $250,000,000 investment to expand and modernize a plant in Tennessee after Trump's tariffs announcement.

I want you to take your post about Electrolux and parallel it to this story.
Why do you think Trump may want the party to hedge on the funding?
Why do you think Trump will ultimately fold (ostensibly with concessions)?
Why do you think the EU may want Electrolux to hedge on investing in America?
Why do you the EU will ultimately fold (ostensibly with concessions)?

Protectionism is inherently disrespectful. Rhetoric doesn’t lessen the blow.
I don’t understand why Americans care so much about what people beyond our borders think of us. Vanity runs deep I suppose.
