For real, the public does have some right to know the health of their presidential candidates

before voting on them. It’s no small matter.

And Trump deprived voters of that right.

    It’s pretty astonishing

In all fairness, the emphasis here is that the reporting on being unhappy with his lawyers (and feeling like they 'needed help') was incorrect.

And that's fair enough, with the caveat that the original story only quoted sources "with knowledge of the situation" as saying he was contemplating changes, not that he was unhappy with his representation. The only person saying that was quoted on the record, as an analyst, not a source. If we're going to split hairs, split them all, I guess.

The fact is that days after the article, one lawyer was gone and another (abortively) hired, while weeks later another departed.

That's true, and Trump did go after Haberman personally ("Hillary flunky"), which would signal he had some grasp of the article itself. Although when you watch CNN's coverage of the story that day (relevant video here: https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/10/polit...ler/index.html) you witness an interpretation of facts (while not necessarily unfair, certainly somewhat inflammatory) which I would posit as the particular agent (Flood hire = impeachment prep) that got Trump all hot and bothered.

These kind of tweets imply to me that the NYT was right in its assessment. Trump hates the truth and attacks it at every chance. Why anyone would use a Trump tweet for anything other than "What lie is he telling now?" is beyond me. Trump is first and foremost a liar and manipulator of public opinion.

Trump is going to the mats. Better to go on the offensive than to sit back and wait for Mueller to slowly corral them all in. But I think he's dreaming if he thinks he can outfox the FBI or even show them something they don't see coming a mile away.

Giuliani was, perhaps, not Trump’s best lawyer pick of all time.

Rudy Giuliani just told Fox that Trump reimbursed Michael Cohen the $130,000 for the Stormy Daniels agreement.

Rudy Giuliani just said on Fox that Trump fired Comey

because Comey wouldn't tell Trump that he wasn't

a target of the FBI's investigation.

So, per Rudy, Trump personally paid Cohen back for the money that Cohen said he paid but wasn't reimbursed for, in an arrangement that Trump says he knew nothing about, to cover up an affair that he denies.
