seeing all this press coverage of McCain makes me sick. Ge volunteered to go murder people. Gets captured by his untended victims. Somehow that makes him a hero. The real heroes are the ones like muhammed Ali who sacrificed for doing the right thing and refusing to go.

When McCain comes home he marries a rich woman who made her fortune selling drugs that have killed and severly harmed millions. He strongly advocates for locking up drug users (only the drugs he doest profit from) while his wife never did a day of prison time for her drug addiction and stealing from her charity to fuel her drug addiction. Funny how she got better with rehab but god forbid we spens half as much on rehab instead of a prison for drug users who havent actually comitted a crime beyond drug possession.

I think we all should be very thankful John McCain was never president. Millions in Iran and thousands of our troops are alive because he was never in charge.

I disagreed a lot with McCain's politics but still respected him. Trump's decisions to not release a statement and to return the flags to the top of the poles so quickly are what I would expect from a spoiled child.

It's almost as if he's "taking a knee" on McCain's passing.

At least the McCain passing should give Trump a temporary reprieve to being constantly lambasted with criticism from all sides. Right? lol

Yeah I agree. I disagreed with McCain on quite a few things, not the least of which was his HORRIBLE VP choice back in 2008, but he had more class in his little finger than "some people we know" have in their whole bodies.

Still cant figure out why he never punched back when during the 2000 South Carolina primary W accused him of fathering an illegitimate child all the while nod and winking she was of color.
She was he and Cindy's adopted 3 year old daughter. From Malaysia I want to say.

Sometimes there is such a thing as being too classy for your own good. I think that was one of those times.

At least we can count on Mr. Amash

Anyone who voted for either the tax bill or the spending bills and then complains about the deficit is really out to lunch. I know you love Amash, but that tax bill--while it may have provided a temporary jump in economic performance--is going to add to the deficit appreciably. And the same goes for Democrats who fought the tax bill but voted for the spending bills. Hypocrisy all around.

As for Manafort, everyone should read this piece by Franklin Foer's from The Atlantic: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine...ustler/550925/. I've been around politics all my adult life and I've seen my share of bad behavior on both sides, but the K Street strategy the Republicans launched in the mid-1990s has ushered in an era where government--at least at the Federal level--is little more than a shakedown racket. Dems have had their share of scandals (think Keating Five), but those weren't part of an organized, on-going strategy. Manafort, Stone, Atwater, DeLay, and Abramoff are all (in the case of Atwater "was") slime.

Runnin, I agree with you wholeheartedly. Trump could have waited until McCain was in the ground before making a lame attempt to get on the top fold. Even as a Democrat, I was willing to give Trump a chance. I witnessed the Ventura win in Minnesota and the strange thing was once Ventura won, he realized that he had to at least attempt to govern responsibly. He put together a good cabinet and pursued some pretty heady policy goals. I didn't agree with some of those goals, but the team he put together worked with the Legislature (at least for awhile) and were open to input from those of us in the lobbying field. Jesse still did "The Body" act with the press, but even that was relatively buttoned down.

Removing him before the midterms would take the air out of the crowd that likes to go outside and scream at the sky, and Republicans would gain a modicum of respect from the truly independent.

Pence would probably be identical policy wise, without the circus that surrounds Trump. We would still hear about how he wants gays to die and is LITERALLY HITLER from the more hysterical part of the left, but overall the situation would instantly be more tenable for anyone with an R beside their name. Maybe they're afraid they would lose a large percentage of Trump voters?

I think a Pence presidency is the outcome that would most vindicate the "strategic judgment" of many Trump voters to hold their noses and vote for him in the hopes he would give them judicial appointments consistent with their views. Under such an outcome the damage from having a deranged child in the oval office is minimized and the upside is realized.
