Trump baiting religious voters into fear.

"It's not a question of like or dislike, it's a question that they will overturn everything that we've done and they will do it quickly and violently. And violently. There is violence," Trump said, describing what would happen should his voters fail to cast ballots. "The level of hatred, the level of anger is very unbelievable."

Man imagine if Obama said this. How many more times we get to read sturg write "the left has lost its mind".

Dude... Everytime a republican is going to win we hear how Roe will be overturned and women won't be allowed to work anymore.

Fear mongering is a classic tactic. Silly to act otherwise

There is a lot of scaremongering about Roe, but let’s not pretend there also isn’t a multi-decade effort in conservative jurisprudence, and a corresponding effort wrt judicial appointments, to chip away at it and ultimately knock the legs out from underneath it.

    This isn’t that.

what I dont understand is does he think there will be less antifa violence if Republicans win in the mid terms.
"Donald Trump will serve a second term as president of the United States.

    It’s over."

Where did the Dems say women won't be allowed to work anymore?

I still think if we had 5 Samuel Alitos on the court that Roe v. Wade gets overturned. We've been lucky to have had Kennedy be a swing vote. So there's still very much a danger to Roe. God forbid something happens to RBG in the next 2 years and Trump/Pence are still in office.

It's pretty obvious he's using the antifa and violence stuff as a cover. He really wants people to get out the vote so he can't have a Dem Congress file impeachment against him. Whoever replaces Ryan will be closer to Trump ideology as Speaker if that happens. Nunes will continue to protect Trump unless he gets voted out which isn't likely.

Today he asked the judge to dismiss the Stormy Daniels case. LOL. He sees the writing has already started on the wall and he's trying to stop it. Guiliani said yesterday that Mueller hasn't spoken to Trump's lawyers in weeks. That is pretty telling itself. If Mueller doesn't even need to interview Trump because Manafort/Cohen/Weissenberg are ready to flip then it makes sense he doesn't need to reach out to Trump's counsel.

    Back to it
Trump's 2 year blip on the graph is good, though pretty insignificant. The Obama administration raised consumer confidence 6 times as much, according to the data.

Trump is accusing Lester Holt of "fudging" tape of Trump's admission to firing Comey because of the Russia investigation

    So what about now?

Can we agree elevating a reality TV personality to the Presidency has been an unmitigated disaster

His policies have been all anyone who voted for him could have hoped for. His first SC pick falls in the same category, and his second SC pick is good enough.

The noise and belligerence is annoying, but I think anyone not on the left side of the political spectrum has realized that they would have heard non-stop Chicken Littling from the press with anyone from the right as President.

I know a lot of Trump voters. I don't know any who approve of the things that come out of his mouth, or the affairs, or the tweeting, but I also don't know of any who regret voting for him. That's a reflection of where the left side of the political spectrum is these days. Trump is just the beneficiary.

Pence would probably be identical policy wise, without the circus that surrounds Trump. We would still hear about how he wants gays to die and is LITERALLY HITLER from the more hysterical part of the left, but overall the situation would instantly be more tenable for anyone with an R beside their name. Maybe they're afraid they would lose a large percentage of Trump voters?
Trump would not allow that. He would burn the house down first, metaphorically speaking. He would implicate Pence and other GOP members in wrongdoing before he allowed them to push him out, imo.

I know some Trump voters too. One has impressed upon his children who are early teens and younger that Trump is a great man to be admired and defended. So while some view the belligerence as a bug others like it as a feature.

2008...the year I changed my voter registration from R to I.

We saw McCain do this in the middle of a Presidential campaign:

He was the anti-Trump and represented reasoned Conservative views.

Then, in a desperate attempt to appeal to the lowest common denominator of the GOP base, they decided to add a completely incompetent Palin to the ticket. This was the moment the GOP turned down the road to becoming the anti-intellectual cesspool led by the Great Pumpkin we see today.

It's a shame because now there is only one set of adults in the room, and if we want to be governed by adults we have to be governed by Liberals.
