by the way, i would like to clarify that trumpophilic is not a synonym or Russian for gay or emasculated...not that there is anything wrong with being gay or emasculated
    "I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."

Our own media has consistently reported this as "unprecedented"

Either they weren't paying attention to Obama (shameful) or they are intentionally lying (fake news)

    Neither option is good

In context so much of what happened Sunday it is unprecedented, unless you go back to Wounded Knee or the assimilation policies aimed at Native Americans

Yes there have been other instances of tear gassing innocents -- but Trump all but dared these people to come to the border and ( announced ? ) his intent.
It is unprecedented for an American President to so blatantly advocate violence involving US military or law enforcement.

You seem to forget that history didn't start when you became aware of politics and the electoral process
You are a walking advertisement for the need of teaching Civics and American History.
    Not to mention practical math

you seem to forget I was of voting age when students at Kent State were gunned down and there was an all out war with the Black Panther Party.
    Nixon

I watched on TV while Civil Rights workers were beaten by police
    Kennedy-Johnson

50pound is old enough to remember union riots where club weiding law enforcement ran amok in crowds
Eisenhower Administration as well as Libertarian backed Herbert Hoover
Neither Eisenhower or Hoover publicly authorized lethal force

Never has a US President take such a high profile in advocating violence
LOL all you like but that is history and Trumps involvement is unprecedented

Obama gassing people quietly and Trump gassing people loudly are different?

I agree. Trump does a tremendous job of exposing how terrible our government is.

please see Julio's link detailing the 2013 incident. Come back to say what was different.

There is no proof that Obama gave the explicit order to use "lethal force" as there is with Trump
So yes, there is a difference

    Sigh.

Did you not read anything I responded with?

It was a monthly occurance. It was a policy.

yes, I have re read the links you provided and see the same thing I did that day.

Never in any of those links is Obama or Nixon or Johnson -Kennedy Eisenhower and yes Hoover ever quoted giving explicit authorization to use lethal force as Trump did
    Which is/was un unprecedented

Do you understand the impact on law enforcement when it's chief executive officer issues carte blanche instructions as such ?

Read some of what Cajon posts daily of law enforcement run amok. And think for a minute of the effect of Trumps unprecedented remarks

Yes in the Obama administration there were border conflicts, there was droning and there were in all likely hood other instances that we would rather not have to look at.
It is/ would be very Pollyanna to think otherwise but there are distinctions.
Just like I well understand that sometimes it is necessary for police to use firearms
But a shoot first ask questions later policy is to all of us unacceptable.

With a wink and a nod Trumps unprecedented authorization crossed that line

    This isn't a hypothetical.

A thousand people rushed the border. You didn't like how they handled it.

What would you have like to have seen happen instead?

It actually is not beyond our capacity to process their asylum cases in a humane way consistent with our laws.

The reason the media is reporting it now is directly because of Trump's making it an issue. Nothing else.

What if instead of sending 5k troops to the border,

we had sent 5k caseworkers to review + process visa applications?

In addition to averting moral crisis,

it also would‘ve saved enormous amt of resources.

But we don’t talk about the financial recklessness of GOP admins,

    do we?

I am asking you what you would have liked to have seen done at the border on Sunday.

    Use your own words.

I've asked the question probably a dozen times that nobody will answer.

You're saying we should have a different policy. I get that.

But we didn't have a different policy. So when a thousand people are trying to storm the country and enter illegally, what should the CBP have done?
