The socialism that I was referring to is not the socialism of universal health care. I'm talking about the kind of Nicolás Maduro, burn-it-down socialism that you don't want. Nobody wants that. Normal people don't want that, but we're going to get it unless you can figure out how to temper the excesses of the digital economy.

Steve Banon has had similoar thoughts. If hardline conservatives or libertarians dont realize this soon we will get destablizing socialism that will destroy america.

Sounds like a do nothing Congress. I remember when everyone hated the repubs who did that under Obama
    a) all she did ?

    b) really ? Ask John Boehner how hard it is

    c) in fact if you understood what the constitution says - it was the most the congress has done since --- well, ACA
and the legislative architect of ACA --------- was ?

and what did they do to Obama ? I thought the most egregious was not even giving a vote up or down let alone interviews to a (R) juror nominated to SCOTUS
oh yeah, they shut down to government --- for ... I dont even remember why and would bet good money no one here does either

We are not anywhere close to unregulated capitalism. And Warren is a clown who is clueless with this stuff (who also happens to be extraordinarily wealthy)

People are clueless about economics, you dont say.

It wasnt too long ago where liberal journalists were praising Venezuela...

We need much more capitalism in this country... and people will have plenty to complain about because we'll have far more rich people

Sturg, you cant ignore real suffering by the majority of the country.i know youll give statistics in comparison to the rest of the world but that is itrelevant to somone in ohio struggling to support their family and doesnt want to move to another region.

If you cant aee the writing on the wall then im not sure what to say. Those of us that realize unmitigated socialism will destroy the country need to understand that the plight of the everyday person trumps ideology that has been more and more difficult to enegage in as we continue to progress from a technilogical perspective.

I mean, Americans are richer than ever before. You just hear about every sob story now bc of social media.

What is hurting people is education and medical debt and wouldn't you know it, that's where go to our socialism

People lives are better today than their parents, and their grandparents. This.is just facts, not emotion.

Tucker Carlson can create a hellscape in his own mind, but its not true.

That's not to say we can't get there, because we sure are.advocating for ways that will make us less prosperous

I know yiuve posted it before but if you share the support to americans being richer id appreciate it. I hope it doesnt have to do with dual incomes and thats its inflation adjusted.

Also, maybe we are only hearing about it now because of aocial media and its existed for a while.

The "conservatives" berating Trump for ending the shutdown are so clueless. Are they masochists? How long do they think he should have continued to harm himself and their cause?

12 Undocumented Immigrant Workers At Trump Golf Course Fired, Lawyer Says
Many of the employees had worked at the club for a dozen or more years.

    Bernard Condon

NEW YORK (AP) — A dozen immigrant workers at one of President Donald Trump’s golf clubs in New York who are in the U.S. illegally were fired this month even though managers had known about their legal status for years, a lawyer for the workers said Saturday.

We need to listen and address concerns of wealth inequality before everyone moves to the left and employs full socialism.

Im doing just fine. I enterred a great field of work and am fortunate to have been born with the ability to learn new akills quickly and to artivulate those skills to others so that they can understand. Not everyone is that fortunate and thise prople need to be addressed.

Whats going to happen when automated vehicles put taxi drivers and truvk drivers out of business. What do you do with those people?

Further, my solution to a lot of this is to restrict various types of immigration so the labor market is toghtened and wages are forced to go up. My 'socialism' type ideas include restriction to how big businesses can get. Im aick of seeing a home depot in every town.

Warren has had a distinguished academic and policy career, received a McArthur “genius grant” (the resulting lectures of which are really fascinating) including becoming one of the most prominent experts in her field of study, which is bankruptcy law. I’d wager that she’s actually one of the smartest and best-versed members of Congress. But she advocates policy with which you disagree, so you insult her intelligence.

Good ol sturg. Often wrong, but seldom in doubt.

Warrens book on dual incomes proved to be a harbinger of things to come. I just fear she has been forced too much to the progressive social justice warrior universe to ever have the same position she wrote about.

Its all clear she missappropriated mative american hertiage to get ahead but she isnt the only person to have made the same mistake.

The conservative George Will says Dems have found their Thatcher --- if they dare

Margaret Thatcher's description of herself as a "conviction politician" alarmed some Britons but delighted others because her convictions were incompatible with the flaccid centrist consensus that had produced their nation's 1970s stagnation. In 1979, voters rolled the dice, sending her to Downing Street. In Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Democrats have their Thatcher, if they dare.
