China is the real threat.
They have been for a while now. We have active duty admirals who are unsure of our ability to guarantee safe passage through the South China Sea if opposed by the rapidly growing PLAN. They've designed non nuclear ballistic missiles to defeat our carriers. They're building manmade islands in international waters and militarizing them with missile emplacements and runways.
Even worse, Chinese grad students also fill an insanely large percentage of our engineering research slots, because colleges love the higher tuition they pay. And. Every. Single. One of them is required to sign an agreement with the Chinese government to be debriefed when they return, and to return on demand of the Chinese government.
There are lots of stories out there about students leaving projects suddenly and without notice, just ahead of FBI investigators showing up. They're intelligence assets of a rival nation, and we are letting them into our best engineering programs. It's baffling.

How did Trump get his security clearance?
I think the writers' of his daily briefing no better than to put anything of real importance in there.

I think, not certain, POTUS is granted clearance at inauguration.
The system trusted the system to get it right.
It is obvious that will be amended
POTUS does not have to apply for a security clearance. Convenient, since the current occupant of the office would not in a million years qualify for one. That's a really ****ed up situation. We--the gatekeepers here--elected a guy with opaque finances and countless shady financial connections, who burned all his bridges with American lenders, settled a $25M fraud lawsuit upon winning the election, and pays hush money to intimate partners.
It's also underscores that there's good reason for some of the informal norms that we've traditionally enforced around the office.
The idea that a relatively common financial event, like bankruptcy, might be a disqualifying factor for any level of security clearance is patently absurd.
The idea that settling a lawsuit or paying 'hush money' to 'intimate partners' might be disqualifying is just plain funny.

Its an inevitability China takes over as THE world power and I dont think its that bad of a thing. They are far more peaceful than we are. Some would say they are bad with human rights but I think they just dont bother as much with a charade to cover it up. They are doing some seriously ****ed up **** though.
