Where is the 'in your face anger?' How many left-leaners on this site have been kicked off? Or even warned for inappropriate exchanges? Who has made egregious personal attacks?

I have been following this very thing - the liberal tone on this board - with great interest for months, wondering when the big eruption of liberal angst would come. I've seen a few people get frustrated but by and large, people on both sides have behaved respectfully while trying to express themselves. People have strong and well-trenched opinions and explaining oneself in this kind of forum can be challenging. And we all know by now how difficult, even impossible, it is to change people's minds.

That said, you are greatly exaggerating the level of heat coming from the left. I think I only complained once about not being able to put you on IGNORE. I think it should be a RULE or even a common sense standard of self decorum that if you are going to be a moderator, you should stay mostly neutral on arguments, be they baseball or politics. Or at least try to be an adult voice. Just my 2 cents.

If they are innocent, someone needs to tell them they are acting exactly like guilty people. Everybody knows that T had to ask Sessions to fire Comey, before he asked everybody else.

Will Mueller request to see the tax returns?

Here's some positive news. Legalize weed and Trump can execute Mueller on live TV and I will still support him and vote for him next time around. I also agree with Stone that Trumps stance on weed was a difference maker in the election. He wasn't necessarily pro legalization but he promised not to **** with the states which was much better than shrillay's "against in every sense of the word" stance. Dont matter how good the economy is, how hot the weather is, or of terrorists attack us if I am in prison.

I'm an independent that has leaned conservative on most issues my entire voting life but I'm so fed up with the way the GOP has acted the last four years that I actually changed parties (was registered republican) when it came time to renew my driver's license. They've bitched and moaned about Obamacare and said "we have a better plan". Then the time comes where they can reveal said plan and they've got nothing. So rather than admit they've got nothing or try to fix what's wrong with Obamacare, they rush through a crappy healthcare plan that benefits no one except the super rich. Now the Senate can't be bothered to actually show what they're working on which means the average person is going to screwed. Then they won't call out this administration for their billions of lies or stand up to some of his god awful choices for cabinet positions (Betsy DeVos is the worst followed closely by racist Jeff Sessions). Hires a racist for his chief strategist. Has blantant ties directly to Russia through his campaign staff, choices in administration personnel and through his own family business ties. Can't be bothered to tweet about our missing sailors but can instead tweet about Hannity's program!

The President (or sexual assaulter in chief) can't be bothered to actually nominate ambassadors for office or get replacements for any of the 46 attorneys he fired. He tweets ridiculous stuff every single day. He gets his news from Foxnews and breitbart. He seems hellbent on destroying alliances. He doesn't have a clue about anything he speaks about because he would actually have to read and/or learn something. The guy is insane and it stuns me that some are unwilling to look at him for what he is. He's a con-man. He's always been a con-man. When all the dirt finally comes out on him, it's going to be such an embarrassment that anyone spent any time at all defending this loser. Open your eyes and look at all the lies. Every single day it's a new lie and often times about incredibly stupid stuff.

I will not vote for a single GOP person in the next election because nobody in office has had the balls to call out or stand up to these frauds in the administration. I can only hope that Trump takes down with him as many of the awful people in Washington as possible - ideally starting with Pence, Ryan and McConnell. Such an embarrassment to our country that this con-man is the leader of our country.

Last I checked Trump's tax return showed he's paid more taxes than just about any candidate who has ever run, and at a higher rate.

Oh, and if Sessions and Flynn lied under oath, then I'm sure they will see jail time, right?

1 page from 11 years ago ---- is kinda like judging Garrett Anderson's Braves career based on a 2-5 game by saying "see he's a .400 hitter"
Both Sessions and Flynn are on record under oath contradicting themselves

    But the question was why

This is spot on. My disdain for Trump and the current GOP is not an endorsement of the Democrats but this is way more important than parties.

Trump and his followers have two responses to everything. It's either "but Hillary" or they stick their fingers in their ears and go "nanananana"

And BTW, calling this investigation an attempted coup when the FBI director was fired in the middle of the investigation and the president said in his own words it was because of the investigation, shows how delusional people have become.

That is very curious. Anyone using that term is either really dumb, really desperate, or really evil -- using the Goebbels technique of accusing your enemy of that which you are guilty of.

The Intelligence Community has known for years that information was the new weaponry and where the next war would be fought. And you can be sure that they perceived Russia's hacking and influencing our democratic process as a highly hostile act, regardless what the administration and GOP led Congress don't say about it. One can only hope that Trump has been effectively quarantined from any major decision and from all the important levers of govt.

I don't understand how you always call out the CIA for toppling governments and installing regimes in South America then make fun of those countries for being "socialist" as if that's how they drew up their plans.

    I don't think I've ever insinuated that.

Just pointing out that socialism doesn't work... as many socialists on this board are clearly understanding with regards to Cuba

Doesn't work how? America's most successful govt programs are socialistic. Citizenship itself is a socialistic enterprise. It doesn't have to be perfect for every single person to be successful 'on the whole'.

Let me point out that a more socialistic health care system is a long way from Marxism. There are many upsides to a more muscular, centrally controlled system going forward. In the event of a serious attack, chemical, biological, etc., where do you think the infrastructure for the rescue and relief is gonna come from? Even a small viral outbreak would be chaotic.

All politics aside, it looks like America needs more country and community-affirming situations. Considering how fragmented the populace is, anything that brings people from different religious, racial and economic lines together seems like a good thing to me. One standard, competent system of health care for ALL is such a no brainer. It's not only a good idea anytime, but especially now. Everyone being equally annoyed could remind people they do all live under one country after all. It's also a great way to keep tabs on the citizenry, and while that might not be a pleasant idea, it's a necessity. Your government which provides for you deserves that much.

The most important trait of a leader --- temperament:

    Father's Day tweets, 2017

Obama: 'I'm most proud to be Sasha and Malia's dad'

Trump: 'Witch hunt...poll numbers...media should shut up"

I think trumpet is basically under house arrest. Can't believe he wanted to go to Camp David.

Reports of him wanting out seems to be increasing. Trolls?

Except he nominated a guy for Attorney General who has an even more bellicose stance on the issues, and who—despite being a supposed small-government conservative—has no made no attempt to mask his disdain for states' individual choices on this issue, even implying he intends to use his current office to curtail both recreational and medical cannabis. So, as with many things, it's hard to get much of a read on Trump's stance—other than he seems to shift said stance as needed to fit into his snake-oil recipe.

I don't think Hillary would have been dumb enough to try and reverse Obama's decision to direct the DEA and FBI to not pursue and thwart what states like Colorado and Wash were doing.

Someone in her circle would have told her it would be a wave to avoid.

I would disagree with that. DOn't know how old you are but I think we are seeing now the first really incompetent President in decades. Only a real dimwit would be so clueless to not listen to those who knew the position better, which is what we seem to have now.

If you prefer competence, you should have voted for Hillary. She would've projected nothing if not competence.
