this is why the Kasich wing laying blame on (R) for the shutdown has bearing.
    Will be an interesting week

Can you explain how Trump's stance on taxes and business regulations differ from any other mainstream Republican viewpoint? His adherence to typical Republican policies is almost certainly the only reason most Republicans in Congress refuse to condemn any awful thing he says.

He was the one that was able to beat the democratic/globalist/MSM machine. That means something. Its something MItt couldn't do against Obama when he was clearly the better option.

I think you're kidding yourself if you think Trump would have taken out Obama, though. Let's not pretend that winning a Presidential Election as a Republican is some impossible feat. He tapped into some segments of the population that others couldn't, and that's undeniably impressive, but I find it hard to believe that 4 years of governing like any other Republican would for matters of policy will allow him to hit that same nerve with "the forgotten man" he did last election. I think a 2020 challenger that tries to tap into a left-leaning Populist message and any ounce of charisma would be a death sentence in the next election.

Trump is going to absolutely destroy anyone in the 2020 Republican primary if you think otherwise then you have no understanding of what trumps base is like

Snark aside, I do think that at least helped in the primary. The Wall and banning Muslims were pretty clear defining characteristics of his message when contrasted with his Republican counterparts. I still think the overarching reason was him somehow tapping into a Populist message that resonated with many people, which still amazes me. I'm not even necessarily trying to suggest which direction the country itself needs to go, but I think if you hammer Trump on his policy record regarding that part of his 2016 message, there's a lot of political damage to be done.

We could add misogyny in the general.

Regardless his opponents name there was even a thread taken down on this board candidate "xyz is a cunt."

I remember back in 08 and 12 and don't remember Obama is a ****** threads being taken down or even broached
So yeah, white men threatened by women played a gigantic role

Pretty hard for Republicans to argue that the shutdown

is Democrats’ fault when Republicans are saying it’s

Stephen Miller and the White House’s fault.

"I can't say anything about what's in the memo…but I think anyone reading this would quickly understand that the process was abused."

Heads are going to roll. Once the public sees this memo the demand to declassify the whole FISA application will swell. That is when Trump will and should declassify.

Curious that the Dems wouldn't even want to read the memo. IF they are so sure everything the Obama administration did was legal then why not just read the memo and then create the counter argument to what the Republicans are saying right? I mean, the answer is obvious and it will play out poorly for Obama moving forward.
The real shock would be if this memo compiled by Devin Nunes contained any real factual information that wasn't just a bunch of misleading talking points.

I remain in awe that Republicans have gone to such lengths to avoid finding out what, if anything, happened in regards to Russian collusion in the most recent election. I likewise remain in awe that they've done nothing notable thus far to ensure future elections are not tampered with. If anything they should be welcoming the investigation into Russian collusion so that when they're cleared, they can say "see, there was nothing there". Instead since the beginning they've seemed hellbent on obstructing investigations. Which brings up another question of why?

Based on what we have learned the last couple of days I don't trust anything said by the FBI/CIA/DOJ under Obama. The whole operation was a sham and this will be made quite clear moving forward. The whole Russia narrative was fabricated and you were duped.

    Will be an interesting week

Historically sitting Presidents, nor their party, facing primary challenges don't fare so well.

    In my life ?
    Johnson
    Carter
    Bush 41
a non majority of republicans nominated him and a non majority elected him

    this shouldn't be shocking
