I only ask this since you're 'an attorney', are you purposely implying that treason and impeachment are almost the same thing? My layman's understanding is that impeachment is only a congressional trial about some Presidential misbehavior, not near as big as a charge of treason and also not in need of flaming evidence (although I would assert that we already have that with this Pres). As we learned with Clinton, a Pres has the right to face his accusers if he feels himself wrongly charged.
Yes, I'm being snarky. Sorry. But I agree that Congress shouldn't start impeachment precedings unless that have several squadrons of ducks lined up. I think we're a long was from that.

Some of the lawmakers laughed at McCarthy’s comment. Then McCarthy quickly added: “Swear to God.”
Ryan instructed his Republican lieutenants to keep the conversation private, saying: “No leaks. . . . This is how we know we’re a real family here.”
The remarks remained secret for nearly a year.

"Flynn stopped military plan Turkey opposed – after being paid as its agent
"Flynn’s connections to Russia have been widely discussed. In 2015, he was paid more than $33,000 to speak at a gala dinner in Moscow where he was seated next to President Vladimir Putin. That alone may have exposed him to criminal charges: As a retired U.S. military officer, Flynn was required to seek permission to travel and to receive payment from a foreign entity, something the State Department and the Pentagon have told Congress he did not do.
But it is his paid work on Turkey’s behalf that offers the clearest evidence of his role as a foreign agent – and of his legal problems, since he did not declare his foreign agent status till weeks after he’d left the Trump administration.
It was a fact Flynn disclosed himself in a declaration to the Foreign Agent Registration Unit of the Justice Department in early March. According to Flynn’s paperwork, he was paid $530,000 for work that “could be construed to have principally benefited the Republic of Turkey.” The contract ended last November."

The thing with Trump is even if he isn't criminally guilty, the associative information is staggering. Much scarier than the stuff the right was smearing Hillary with.
Leave Flynn out of it, let's just pretend that Flynn was Trump being dumb, not Trump being told to put him in the office by foreign interests. Let's just pretend that it's coincidental that Manafort according to Kiev was given money by Ukraine's pro-Russian interests. Lets ignore those for a second and go back to the Russian meddling in the US election. Don't even pretend that Trump is the one, just the Putin didn't want Hillary, and it would make sense, Hillary is a stronger adversary to Russian interests than Trump. Trump's family is in the hospitality industry for the rich and famous, Russia has a lot of rich people, he'd like to appease them. Again, I'm not saying here that Trump knew this, but realize there is a reason why Russia would strongly favor Trump or another Rep, especially after the last 8 years and what happened to the Russian GDP. Even beyond that, they'd rather embarrass America. So you have to think about Julian Assange. Here's someone who everyone in the world knows where he is, he's not hidden. If he wasn't protected by someone, he would be dead. There's obviously some interest that's keeping him alive. And then look at who Wikileaks posts about. It's basically the US and their Allies. In a world where the Russian media is state owned, don't you think there's tons of leaks there? Same with China? It makes it quite clear why Assange is alive, because people with a lot of money want him alive. And his interests seem to be tied to Russia or China. If it was China they would have leaked RNC or Trump memos more likely given the cozy relationship with the Obama camp.

not a bad synopsis Zeet. There may be some inconsistencies here and there if someone really want to put it under a microscope but the overall theme is impressive to say the least and unfortunately would lead to some more leads or non leads to no where. Great effort in doing a TL:DR Cliffs Notes version of this ongoing Pres. Agent Orange circus.
Trumpt may not be guilty of "treason" but his whole administration is treasonous, from its makeup to its policy. It's clear that what he would like to do is to dismantle the democracy and turn America into a white Christian kleptocracy, like his hero Putin's Russia.
Fortunately, he is as incompetent as he is arrogant.

The interesting thing to me is if Pence goes down with Trump. Pence could just pardon Trump. Would Paul Ryan pardon them both to become President?
