Just watched the whole Navajo Code-Talkers and Trump exchange. Those men were inspiring. Every word from POTUS was cringe-worthy. While I think Warren's faking being a Native American is worthy of being nicknamed "Pocohantus," his trolling line was asinine.

3/4 the people living in South Georgia claim Cherokee Heritage.
She is from Oklahoma - this piece of family lore passed down from Grandparents ---
is not that far fetched. You, have you researched the family history passed down from your Grandparents ?
You sure they haven't fudged it a bit ?

This is what this is about ?
and if she is mistaken === so what

Over the years you seem to have taken delight in using this slur -- why ?

And let's not mince words, it is a racial slur. Much like calling a dark skinned Cuban a ******.
Or say, someone with Kenyan heritage

Pretty sure you get where this goes

Do 3/4 of those South Georgians also try to use their 'Cherokee heritage' to gain a competitive advantage in the college admissions process?

I was told I had some 'Cherokee blood' growing up, but the thought never even occurred to me to take advantage of collegiate racial quotas by fully affiliating with my tribe.

That, to me, is much more troubling than calling someone "Pocahontas" .... which is absolutely, positively not a racial slur.

    Calling a dark-skinned Cuban a ******?

    Please.

It's like calling a black man with a bald head and a mustache Steve Harvey.

Is it uncouth and pretty ignorant? Sure. Racist? Get the **** out of here.

I was wondering when "Pocahontas" became a racial slur. I guess now I am free to call anyone who refers to me using a white celebrity name a racist..

    ................................

The Globe obtained a portion of Warren’s application to Rutgers, which asks if prospective students want to apply for admission under the school’s Program for Minority Group Students. Warren answered “no.”

For her employment documents at the University of Texas, Warren indicated that she was “white.”

But Penn’s 2005 Minority Equity Report identified her as the recipient of a 1994 faculty award, listing her name in bold to signify that she was a minority.

The Herald has twice quoted Charles Fried, the head of the Harvard appointing committee that recommended Warren for her position in 1995, saying that the Democratic candidate’s heritage didn’t come up during the course of her hiring. “It simply played no role in the appointments process,” he said. “It was not mentioned and I didn’t mention it to the faculty.”

The Herald later quoted Fried, a former U.S. Solicitor General under President Ronald Reagan, saying, “I can state categorically that the subject of her Native American ancestry never once was mentioned.”

The term is racist in that Pocahontas was of Tsenacommacah, Warren's family claims were that her history included Delaware and Cherokee ancestry.
Point being -- one native American is the same as the other ? As in, "they all lok the same" haven't we been through this recently in police misidentification of victims?

The notion of hurling the insult of "Pocahontas" ignorant of American native pride in their tribal ancestry.

You will find sometime soon, following this party line, excuse me, the Trump party line, is a rabbit hole one finds difficult to crawl out of.

Practice what you preach -- and don't predicate your entire argument on one blog from the Washington Post:

    http://www.thecrimson.com/article/19...ing-at-hls-pa/

    1996, Harvard School Newspaper:

Although the conventional wisdom among students and faculty is that the Law School faculty includes no minority women, Chmura said Professor of Law Elizabeth Warren is Native American.

    http://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/201...y.html?camp=pm

US Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren said on Wednesday that she listed herself as a minority in directories of law professors in the hopes of networking with other “people like me” — meaning those with Native American roots.

Asked whether she considers herself to be a minority, the Democrat said, “Native American is part of my family. It’s an important part of my heritage.”

    https://www.theatlantic.com/politics...r-what/257415/

Elizabeth Warren is not a citizen of the Cherokee Nation.

Elizabeth Warren is not enrolled in the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

And Elizabeth Warren is not one of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee.

Nor could she become one, even if she wanted to.

    ---

But yeah, let's talk about whether or not "one native American is the same as the other" because it's not entirely irrelevant.

And what difference does her heritage or claims make? Is it like she lied for a Security Clearance?
Or about the size of her inaugural crowd? Or the millions of voters that didn't get counted for her"

The New England Historical Genealogical Society, which originally announced they found evidence of Elizabeth Warren’s Native American heritage, said today they have discovered no documentation to back up claims that she is 1/32 Cherokee.

“NEHGS has not expressed a position on whether Mrs. Warren has Native American ancestry, nor do we possess any primary sources to prove that she is,” said Tom Champoux, spokesman for the NEHGS. “We have no proof that Elizabeth Warren’s great great great grandmother O.C. Sarah Smith either is or is not of Cherokee descent.”

“If she is 1/32nd Native American … is it really appropriate to list yourself that way and knowing you will therefore be listed as a minority law professor?” asked William Jacobson, associate clinical professor of Cornell Law School, the author of a blog read in the legal community. “Why in the world would you list yourself when it is such a tenuous and distant relationship?”

“Why would she have done it, and why would she have stopped when she was at Harvard?” Jacobson said. “The whole thing makes no sense.”

Makes plenty of sense to me.

But a 1997 Fordham Law Review piece described her as Harvard Law School's "first woman of color," based, according to the notes at the bottom of the story, on a "telephone interview with Michael Chmura, News Director, Harvard Law (Aug. 6, 1996)."

The mention was in the middle of a lengthy and heavily-annotated Fordham piece on diversity and affirmative action and women. The title of the piece, by Laura Padilla, was "Intersectionality and positionality: Situating women of color in the affirmative action dialogue."
