This was also announced earlier today, via Rotoworld:
Astros acquired C Matt Pagnozzi from the Braves in exchange for cash considerations.
Jason Castro's strained knee forced Houston's hand. Already playing without concussed backup catchers Carlos Corporan and Max Stassi, the Astros' only other healthy catcher is 31-year-old rookie Cody Clark. Pagnozzi is en route to Houston and will be active for Tuesday's game.
Fredi's just trolling us at this point. He's up 15 games, has the division just about locked up and he's thinking, "Let's screw around with the jerks over at ChopCountry. Get me Shanks in here, I'm going to give some anonymous quotes trashing Heyward's approach to recovering from his broken jaw."
Actually like it, except for Uggla...
Need Elliot. More Elliot please.
Jordan goes 4-5 with 3 SB and gets benched the next game.
Need this win to get the series because I have no hope tomorrow (Gee vs. Loe).
Very little for a Major league team, but Matt would've been a minor league free agent again anyway. Plus Matt has already played in the Majors and did well as a back-up. So he was a good choice for Houston given their injuries. Further, Matt came here expecting a Major league job. If you recall a lot of media talk early pretty much called him a lock to make our team. But Gattis changed all that so in the end it didn't happen. Good job by the Braves doing right by him. We just didn't have room for him here.
It doesn't appear that LASIK has made any difference whatsoever with the Owl.
Probably EJ, I know he isn't much with the bat but he saves runs at second. He has 11 DRS in not even 400 innings at second base this year (including a few runs saved for us). Uggla is the opposite and one of the worst at second, -15 DRS or something this year. So if neither is hitting much I'll go with the great defense at second base (sorta like we did with Lemke in the past). If EJ somehow gets a hit he can steal second too.
That said, I wanted La Stella and Pastornicky before that of course. But that's not happening so our options are very slim.
BJ is looking better everyday.

Elliot Johnson has a .573 OPS in 600+ big league PAs. He can steal a base, sure, but you can grow an Evan Gattis-esque beard in between his appearances on base.
Are you asking if Uggla is worse than EJ? If you factor in defense and how both are hitting right now, yes. But if Uggla turns it on before the playoffs that could change. So it depends on how that goes I reckon. Either way, I'd still bring in EJ for defense at second late in games the playoffs.
