Biggest movers of the 2017 MiLB season

I saw this on Twitter and figured it would be fun to translate into a threat.

Who do you think will be the biggest mover/movers of the upcoming minor league season?

I think Max Fried and Acuna both take off like crazy. I think Fried will start in AA and end up in AAA by the end of the year and could easily be a September call-up.

    Thoughts?

I think Fried will start off in AA as well. I think Weigel could move to AAA this year and even make his debut.

Corbin Clouse...He'll at least be in AA by the end of the year.

Predicting Minter makes the team out of training camp, Acuna moves up to AA, Clouse to AAA and Fried goes as far as they want him, probably "only" AAA.

    Good threat.

I said before last year that it would be a potentially huge year for our minor league system where a bunch of guys could see a big upswing in their values. Well, we actually had a bunch of guys whose value improved a little bit, who had good years but didn't just tear the world apart, and we find ourselves in a similar position again. There are very few of our top prospects who I feel like are near the peak of their potential value, mostly due to the fact that we're so young.

So I would say these are the guys who see the biggest jump (it ends up being basically the guys with the highest ceilings who aren't really close to that ceiling right now):

    Toussaint
    Acuna
    Fried
    Maitan
    Jackson
    Wentz
    Anderson
    Pache
    Cruz

Then you have guys like Allard, Newcomb, and Soroka whose value is pretty high right now but could definitely continue to climb higher.

Acuna is the prospect I am most expecting to make a big jump in the rankings. Although his season was cut short I find it impressive that he didn't miss a beat when he came back.

Carrying that over to Australia as well... should jump up prospect rankings!! We could potentially have 9-12 Top 100

    1. Ozzie Albies
    2. Sean Newcomb
    3. Kolby Allard
    4. Ian Anderson
    5. Kevin Maitan
    6. Mike Soroka
    7. Ronald Acuna
    8. Max Fried
    9. Touki Toussaint
    10. Travis Demeritte
    11. Joey Wentz
    12. Austin Riley
    13. Kyle Muller
    14. Alex Jackson

I think Fried and Toussaint are in the process of really putting it together and are a tad under the radar because of some of the other guys around and in front of them. Fried to Cobb late this year, Touki next.

All about Allard. Braves will still limit his inning's but the ones he throws this year will be dynamic wherever they are.

Pre 2017 I could see us having 8-9 with Swanson still on those lists.

I think we will have several in our top 30 increase value. But I will toss a name that will be on everyone's list next year. Matthew Custred will be talked about as a future high leverage reliever next year.

Including Swanson, I see 9 definite Top 100. Could be more depending on how you view #9, #10, #11, #12.

If I had to pick one pitcher and one hitter.

    Ronald Acuna - CF
    Kolby Allard - SP

Having seen both guys live, they both have superstar potential IMO.

Sleep prospects that could make a huge jump.

    Joey Wentz - SP
    Christian Pache - OF

Wentz showed some fatigue after being drafted but he has HUGE upside! I personally thought he was the best pitcher in the draft IMO.

Pache has the ability to put the bat on the ball and make solid contact while doing so. I've only seen clips of him but hopefully I can lay some eyes on him in Rome this season.
