    Poor Tyrell Jenkins...

Either he feels unwanted, or like a hot potato. Fourth team in a month!

Braves trade him to Rangers on December 8th.

Rangers put him on waivers to take him off 40-man. Claimed by Reds on December 23rd.

Reds try to do the same, and is claimed by Padres on January 3rd.

OK San Diego, your move ...

(Kinda hope the Braves reclaim him. Class act.)

he got a signing bonus of $1.3 million dollar out of high school for trying to go play a game

no real reason to feel that bad for him.

So, he's in the 33% Federal, plus State, Plus local, plus Union dues, plus agent commission, plus insurance, plus social security (he's like 17 only 60 years away!), plus Obamacare, ching, cha-ching, cha-ching...

so, Mr. Jenkins, it appears that you're in arrears, by $50K. Pay the man on your way out...

We aren't supposed to feel bad for a kid whose dream since he was a kid to play professional ball and it looks like he won't be realizing that dream?

    Seriously?

At least he keeps getting claimed. Even if he doesn't pitch in the bigs again, if he can be AAA depth for someone, he can make some bucks. With his personality, he might be offered a job in somebody's organization, too. Of course, he still might find something and have some sort of big league career. I think everyone is pulling for him.

He will undoubtedly rack up the 43 days of service time this year with the Padres to guarantee himself a pension for life from the MLBPA. I think Mr. Jenkins will be just fine in life overall.

Agreed - Doesn't mean we can't feel bad for a kid who is starting to realize that his dream will not be fulfilled.

MLB players must play 43 days in the majors to earn a minimum $34,000 annual pension plan. Just one day in the majors gets them lifetime healthcare coverage. After 10 years in the big leagues, benefits grow to $100,000 annually.

According to BBRef, he has 82 days of MLB service time, so isn't that enough for the pension, or does he need 43 more, 125 days total?

Should we feel sorry for 95% of every player drafted?

Not to mention every poster here?

The ones who haven't always dreamed of making it as players clearly have at least dreamed of managing the team or running the front office.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
